Cryptocurrency is a misnomer.

Let's get honest about cryptocurrency.

Whatever the coin - whatever the utility - you don't own cryptocurrency if you don't believe that whatever you own has some value. You come across several different types of people in the crypto sphere. Let's take a look at some of these wildlings.

The HODLer.

This type of crypto-currency enthusiast will buy anything at any price. They fall into 2 subcategories as well. The hipster who is HODLing Bitcoin because he got in early enough. And the one who buys the newest crap or the cheapest crap either upon launch or at the slightest mention of an uptick. They will never pay you in crypto unless it's for the novelty - such as immediately buying crypto to send to you.

The HODLer will never sell his Bitcoin. The HODLer has 2000$ on every exchange as an open buy order for 20 Bitcoins at 100$. The HODLer doesn't care what the price of Bitcoin is unless he's buying more - because Bitcoin will reach infinity.

The Market Junkie

I hate the term Junkie so I only use it for this. This type of crypto geek treats crypto as what it really is when we get honest. A financial asset. They might also play the FOREX markets but there's nothing like the volatility of crypto. High returns on low investments thrill them. You can lump your panic sellers here - right beside you market manipulators. They're the opposite of the HODLer and count their profits in fiat not crypto.

The Buy Bitcoin and Forget about it.

Does the name need elaboration?

Some people today just put X amount of what they can afford to lose into crypto and don't touch it for a long time. These people are smart. However they are often just a not so interested in between of the above. Some will never sell their crypto. Some are hoping for a skyrocket minus being worried about one not happening. Like buying a cool lotto ticket.

The Balancer.

The balancer works in crypto. He monitors the markets and thinks long term. He doesn't panic sell until the last moment should it come. He cashes out what he can't afford to lose and HODL's what he believes in. One of the not-so-hypocritical phenotypes of crypto enthusiasts - they strongly believe in utility and/or decentralized finance. Your geeks often fall into this category.

Going on a tangent is my thing.

I got started typing up a blah blah blah format but my initial point in mind was this. People don't treat crypto like currency. Except for me. I've sold items to friends in exchange for LTC. I've been contracted write articles for 100USDT. I liked being paid in USDT. Now TRC 20 USDT has it's flaws and all... All crypto does. But we haven't reached a consensus yet. To call something a "currency" is confusing when it takes 2 or 3 or 4 trades to buy you that pizza a guy once spent 10000 Bitcoins on a decade ago.

Stablecoins are just placeholders. They're unnecessary from a currency perspective if the point of cryptocurrency by name isn't to serve to transact.

Let's stick with Bitcoin. Bitcoin is the ultimate model for fully decentralised currency. What happened with Bitcoin? The founder made it a "quazi-ponzi" because nothing else works. He then proceeded to mine himself enough to be a billionaire should the idea take off. Do I blame him? No. Do his actions threaten the sovereign nature of the project? Absolutely. At the height of his holdings he was the 48th richest person in the world. He then cashed out a bunch and is still well within his double digit billions.

That doesn't make it wrong.

If Bitcoin comes to serve as a functional societal utility - this man's few billions are a drop in the ocean compared to their societal worth.

Is it tho? Not yet.

I'm an unemployed beggar running a test.

*Blogger. Sorry. Typo. I actually have panhandled for gas money before and it was fairly easy to do. I also tend to give the homeless guy some spare change if I see him around enough to know he's harmless. I have no way of knowing if larger bloggers ever get BTC and ETH tips... But until I get a tip in something... I'm especially annoyed with the perceived arrogance. It costs a lot to send those "currencies"... If anything they should all be asking for tips in XLM or LTC etc etc.

Someone prove me right. I'm tired of posting QR codes. I don't for a second expect a BTC send. Or ETH or whatever. But I'm looking at you guys - TRX proponents. It's possible to send 0.0001 and that's absolutely nothing. LTC is the same story. I'll post just a few this time. If you have a
