Something I like to tell anyone that wants to get into crypto is that they should do it as if profits will only come after 10 years or so. Not because there are no profits in-between or because it's impossible to get gains from trading or other methods, but rather cause it's the safest and least risky way to do it. Crypto is the future, anyone that's interested in crypto can see that and depending on the project it could change finance in many ways through new ways of doing things that were previously either too complicated or impossible altogether. It's of course important to remember that choosing the right project is extremely important in these cases. Cause of all of this factors I would like to make a short list highlighting projects that have the potential and are likely to thrive in the future, if you want a particular number than I mostly mean 10 years from now.
These are in no particular order, they are numbered cause it's easier to keep track of them.
1. Monero (XRM)
I recently read a thread where the question was, "Which crypto you'd invest into if the money had to be left there for 10 years" and one of the most interesting answers was.
Monero, with how countries are starting to regulate crypto there is only one true way to not be affected and stay in the game no matter what happens. That's complete privacy and intractability.
When I read this I really had to agree. Monero is secure, private and untraceable. It's completely donation-based and community-driven. With every additional user the project becomes more and more safe. Nobody can see your transactions, the amounts you're transferring and how much you have right now cause of the way the currency was encoded. When you think about it it really makes sense that a project like this could go through absolutely everything that may befall the market. 2. Tron (TRX)
What is something that we as humans can never get rid of? Nope, it's not water and it ain't even something physical, it's entertainment. We will always have and need entertainment cause it's often times what allows us to have a break and enjoy our days, our lives even, and Tron is the the biggest player in entertainment and dApps. If you've ever tried Crypto games or apps you have definitely heard or seen or maybe even earned some Tron or at least a TRC token. They aim to be a blockchain platform for entertainment, they are definitely taking steps towards it by gamifying many tasks and attempting to make them both interesting and profitable. As this projects grows these apps will only get better, more influential until at one point it becomes a standard and that's almost inevitable as there is hardly other projects that come close to what Tron offers and what they've done up until now.
3. Cardano (ADA)
So I was originally going to put Ethereum in this place but I was then reminded while watching a video of what Cardanos goal is, to be better than ETH in everything it's trying to do, scalability, energy efficiency and speed. Not only that but their roadmap has a important part in which they plan to make Cardano the Internet of Blockchains, connecting different blockchains together, allowing you to transfer your assets from one to the other. This both shows a eagerness to be better than a giant in crypto and a plan that, if it pans out, could make it an invaluable resource down the line. Another important thing to note is that the proof of stake model allows Cardano to almost certainly be at the forefront for a long time cause of it incentivizing people to keep their ADA for as long as possible to gain additional rewards, making a theoretical endless cycle. All of this combined together makes the project seem a bit too perfect for it all to work but even if not all of it is perfect there is a very big chance that it can coexist with ETH and other competitors.
I am actually going to end this list here. These 3 are the projects I've seen as the objectively most long term. BTC and ETH are likely to go along with these 3 as well but that all depends on your willingness to invest in them and I for one think the projects are at a much later stage than the ones on my short list. A similar thing can be said for XRP and LTC as well. The rest I do not have enough info on to actively recommend so for now, this is it!
