"Chimp's" Interview

** This is one in a series of interviews with more "mature" crypto holders about their motivations and views about cryptocurrencies, enjoy!**

"Chimp" is one of the members I've met and made friends with in the $WSB crypto community, and I asked him some questions about how he got into crypto and where he was going, sharing a bit of advice on the way.

* What made you first look into cryptocurrencies?

"I got involved in crypto in 2016 because I was helping test a beta program for a crypto fantasy football platform and I had no clue what crypto was but I was heavily involved in fantasy sports and was willing to look into anything involved with it."

* What were your first impressions of Crypto?

"At first I didn't really think anything of crypto because the coins I was winning were really not worth anything. A year later I looked and realized that what I was holding in my wallet was worth over 100k. By the time I figured out how to transfer it and sell it I got about half of that, but I have been hooked ever since."

* What do you think of the "game for crypto" environment today? I've seen all kinds of games for play and beta-testing that pay out in various cryptos, but I've seen some that look like scams too, which ones do you think are worth anything, if any?

"I play a few gambit, but I always check to see what the house edge is for any game. There is dice on yobit and the house has a 4% edge and on DFT the house has a 1% edge. I play DFT and just picked up a 3% better chance of winning. Keno games are fun but the house usually has a 40% edge so I only play that as a luxury. I play a lot of daily fantasy sports and have made a pretty good deal of $. The trick with these games is to walk away when you hit a nice pot.

* Did you feel intimidated by the stigma that crypto was for "the younger generations?"

"Not intimidated at all as I am usually the type to take things head on but I am also not tech savvy so that's where I hit a few snags.."

* Do you have any crypto holdings in a specific account for "retirement" (i.e. there are accounts where you can invest your retirement funds in cryptocurrencies)

"Do I have any for retirement besides WSB? lol... yes I am heavily invested in a company called NLC2. They just registered with the SEC and I was able to buy stock in the company using ETH. I am also holding a nice bag of the coin and the platform is about to go live in the next few months. I am also making weekly buys in the top 10 coins . Diversification is key and crypto is just a bonus to my retirement plan...I'm either gonna eat good or GREAT!"

* What do you feel are the main mistakes you make along the way, and what did you learn from these mistakes?

"The biggest mistakes I made were selling for a loss after buying something and then getting nervous when I saw a huge dump and also falling for a few scams. I fell for a few scams because I didn't know what to look for but if it seems too good to be true it usually is....and I mean 50% profit in a day and not 5% or 10% because crypto delivers that all the time."

* So FUD was definitely a factor in your early crypto adventures?

"I guess I got over the FUD problem when I finally realized that I was selling because of FUD (Fear of Doubt,) and the fudders were the ones buying from me and then the price would start to rise again. Simple concept and some people have mastered the art of fudding. I knew a guy names Placebo from the yobit site that would be talking crap about a coin and then the next day he was pumping it. He made a killing on everything he touched because he was that good at it."

* How do you feel you've grown since venturing into the crypto world?

"I am a much better investor and also a much better person since getting involved in crypto. I try to teach others and also get involved in the projects I am involved in. I also have been trying to give back some of my profits to veterans that are involved with the projects."

* What advice would you give other "mature" people looking into joining the crypto world?

"I would suggest that they find someone they trust to walk them through the crypto experience... And I would suggest they also invest in WSB!!!!"

Thank you "Chimp" for having this conversation with me, and for being so helpful when I need it! I wish you the best in our shared adventure!
