The cryptocurrency has not accumulated three quarters of constant growth since 2017. Despite the continuous growth of Bitcoin since its inception - just over 11 years ago - the volatility that always characterized the crypto market prevented it from closing large periods of continuous growth. This year, particularly since March's "Black Thursday" when the market crashed and BTC declined by almost 50%, the growth of the largest cryptocurrency has been steady. According to data from analytics firm Skew, the benchmark cryptocurrency hasn't had three quarters of uninterrupted growth since 2017.

At the end of 2016 and until the beginning of 2018, the cryptocurrency had a sustained growth of five quarters, which led it to register a historical maximum of USD 19,783.06 on December 17, 2017. In May of this year, the halving of BTC was a considerable boost for the cryptocurrency to rebound after the crash following the declaration of the coronavirus as a pandemic. In case that diagnosis is fulfilled, BTC would accumulate two years of constant growth.
