Art on NFT. Non-sense or a liquidity injection into the Market?

I came to know Rossano Ferrari a couple of years ago. He started talking me about the tokenization of art. At the beginning he wanted to create a tokenized portrait in a form of crowdfunding to fund a charity campaign he was after.

Then the pandemic happened and we could meet each other again some months ago. He was inspired. He wanted to go for the NFTs.

At first I asked him: “Why?”

He said: “Mike, my art is gaseous, it represents the transition from the solid to the liquid, to the gaseous, to the quark society. I am painting a society that cannot be held anymore, that cannot be watched, can just be lived in a fast and hurry way. People attention lasts on average 8 seconds. You know Mike, 8 seconds is nothing. Since you started reading this article 35 seconds on average will be passed. 4 times more than the average attention time. Lowering attention level is important to manipulate people, to make them more influenceable from sources with ready made information.”

Mike: “Hey Rossano, thanks for you explanation. Anyway, I am here to understand why you want to make NFTs. Why now?”

Rossano: “Eheheheheh Mike, you still do not understand. A gaseous society…can you touch it? Can you hold it?”

Mike: “No”

Rossano: “You got the point. NFT are the perfect shape to sell and share my portraits. I am painting of the non-touchable society. Which better support than an NFT with a limited supply?”

Mike: “I get it. And f**k this, your idea is amazing.”

Rossano: “My idea of art is a gathering of different things making a whole. Can you see here in Boom! ?

Here we start to read this portrait from the bottom. Solid society, that starts with definite shapes, growing up, the solid shapes begin to show waves, uncertainty and rising up, we see masks. We are all masks in our life, in Pirandello’s view. Social Networks becomes our mask, where we pretend to be someone that maybe we will never be. Maybe, someone that we do not want to be but we feel forced to behave like this.”

Mike: “I see. And I think that we MUST create a sufficient number of copy to allow as many people as we can to own one copy of your NFT. This message must be spread to make masses aware of what is happening. And we are not going to communicate with them in the traditional “antagonist” way. We are going to communicate through art. And the price must be cheap. Everyone must afford on of your NFTs!”

Rossano: “When shall we start?”

This conversation is what led me to help Rossano Ferrari creating his first NFTs.

An idea, an inspiration. I felt inspired by his art.

You can find his art at the following link. Feel free to follow his profile on Rarible, and eventually, buy one of his NFT ??
