Basically, zkTube is taking advantage of the Ethereum platform improving its functions with ZK-Rollup technology based on the PLONK algorithm protocol, can you highlight the benefits of this protocol? What is the speed of your platform using this technology?
Dave L: Yes, but they released it, but there may be some hurdles that they haven’t cracked yet, so they haven’t released the latest version yet

The advantage of Plonk is that it supports a common, upgradable reference string, and as long as the size of the circuit design does not exceed the upper SRS threshold, some of the scenes and functions can actually share one SRS, which is very helpful to ZKTube. ZKTube takes advantage of this feature.In certain scenarios such as deposit, withdraw, transfer, buy and sell, this feature is put to the extreme use. Originally, the proof time of ZKTube is about 5 times shorter than that of Snarks, but after the optimization of ZKTube, the proof time is about 15–20 times shorter.

Panda Y: PayTube is a Layer2 wallet building on top of the ZKTube Protocol. It is planned to start trial use in Australia, the United States, Canada, Singapore. Yes,PayTube Wallet may supports a range of business activities. For example, the PayTube Wallet program works with third party compliance platforms such as Simplex or Uphold in the US,and PayID in Australia to ensure compliance between digital and fiat currencies used internationally. In the future, PayTube plans to introduce Visa prepaid gift cards, which will be available on application. This prepaid card can be used at any merchant that accepts Visa online or offline merchant. However, the private key of PayTube wallet belongs to the user’s own management, and the private key belongs to the user’s personal property. PayTube wallet never keeps the private key of the user.

The total circulation and supply of ZKT cannot exceed 330,000,000 and 89.4% of your total supply will be distributed through mining. Panda Y: First of all, our mining is still in intensive testing. In the framework of our preliminary design, we added to our test network as collateral for testing tokens. We are still updating our test network and will update more content to accommodate existing miners. It is not a secret for anyone that NFTs are growing in popularity as days go by. And I saw that zkTube is not too far behind on this topic because while reading your whitepaper I saw that: “zkTube underlying protocol NFT also do field extended support NFT on the second floor above the transaction”. Can you tell us more about this? What plans does zkTube has regarding NFTs? Will you add NFT services to PayTube or are there any plans on releasing zkTube’s own marketplace?
Pat: absolutely
Dave L: We have developed corresponding technical frameworks for zkTube in the fields of DeFi and NFT, etc. The most typical one is that we have supported Uniswap V2 and V3 technical frameworks. Currently, this product has been developed and is still under internal testing. The specific implementation principle is as follows:
For both Uniswap V2 and V3, ZKTube’s underlying protocol will support data interaction with L2 accounts. Users can choose to deposit ETH or ERC20 coins to L2 on V2, and then conduct swap transactions or provide liquidity. At the same time, we can also transfer the ETH or ERC20 token deposit above V3 to L2 for swap transaction or provide liquidity. Then, the second level will summarize, package, prove and finally verify that there is no problem, and submit it to the ETH main chain.

Pat : The user’s assets are stored in the smart contract, and only the user can operate it.

Dave L: Ordinary users refer to the users who trade on the front end, and operators refer to the zkTube miners who provide proof of zero knowledge. Therefore, a user can either trade on the front end or provide proof for zkTube as a miner

Pat: The current theoretical value is indeed 3000+ TPS. But our actual test has not reached this peak, so we are currently working hard to realize this theory. In our current testing phase, the machine involved in the calculation is our subsequent mining computer, and the plonk algorithm itself has a lot of room for optimization. Then there is security. It is true that there may be security issues at present. We currently use asset flow records to verify the user’s financial situation, and use an efficient distributed database to ensure data consistency. zkTubes have native token $ZKT, could you explain what are function of your token in your platform? And how do we possible to purchase it?
Pa: Native tokens can be used in the behavior mining of Layer1 to Layer2 deposit functions in the wallet, and at the same time ZKT token serve as transaction and withdrawal fees. In addition, ZKT’s native tokens will also be mined as collateral according to the rules of the economy. Early adopters can either wait for the second round of whitelisting to be open to purchase tokens, or purchase tokens from an exchange when ZKT is listed.

Is the PLONK Algorithm used by zkTube different from SNARK technology used by other zero-knowledge solution? Are you still able to guarantee transaction correctness when interacting or transferring transactions to the secondary offline layer?
Dave L: Zktube uses zero-knowledge proof Plonk algorithm in Layer2. Theoretically, Starks algorithm is the most secure. It does not rely on the assumption of pairing and exponential knowledge, but is completely based on hash value and information theory to calculate, which is anti-quantum computer attack.Corcorresponding, it increases the number of proof bytes from 288 bytes (b) to several thousand bytes (KB), which is not suitable for Zktube to build a generic Layer2 protocol. Secondly, the biggest problem with Starks is that it is not generic. Different problems or scenarios require different arithmetic solutions.Not very useful for ZkTube at the moment, maybe it will be a good choice for Layer2 sharding when Ethereum 2.0 comes online.
Snarks is the algorithm that uses the least number of bytes in the algorithm, and Groth16 is the one that uses the most. First of all, Groth16 is not universal, and it relies on the one-time non-upgradable setting. If the system changes or encounters any small bug, it needs a new ceremony to deploy and fix it.Secondly, different CRS(the Common Reference String) is needed for different problems, which is equivalent to designing different circuits for different scenes. Therefore, this algorithm is used for specific scenes, such as decentralized DEX, payment and other simple scene circuit design.

zkTube protocol is a scaling solution for Ethereum Layer 2. zkTube also has solutions for Proof of Staking as testnet POS mining launch on June 10, 2021. I have questions about this. Do you think after the launch of Ethereum 2.0 people would still like to continue Ethereum scaling solutions? Also do you think POS system is best solution for scalability? Won’t it mean a more centralized approach? What do you think of proof of stake on this matter?
Cerium: Everyone knows that the 2.0 upgrade will convert POW mining to POS, but in fact, the initial stage of the entire upgrade process is that the dual chains coexist, and there will be both the current main chain (original chain) and the new chain (POS mechanism), and Two kinds of tokens ETH1.0 and ETH2.0. During this period, users can burn ETH1.0 in exchange for ETH2.0, but ETH2.0 will be effectively frozen until the full upgrade of 2.0 is completed (at that time we can see that the exchange is trading two Ethereum tokens at the same time Interesting phenomenon). In other words, during the entire 2.0 transition period, the operational state of the original chain must be guaranteed. This is also the problem: the upgrade process needs to maintain and develop two chains at the same time, and achieve breakthroughs in key technologies such as sharding. Compared with the direct switching of the main network of other public chains, one more chain workload is out of thin air.
As for how long this intermediate state of dual-chain coexistence will take, we can infer from the latest official blog post. According to the description of the released “1.x Document: Quick Sync”, the development team is now focusing on more incremental upgrades to Ethereum 1.x, and stated that “the life of the original Ethereum chain needs to be extended by at least another 3–5 years. “. Theoretically, the length of time the original chain needs to be maintained is an intermediate state. Once the original chain is upgraded to 2.0, the historical mission has been completed. Therefore, it can be inferred that the entire 2.0 upgrade process is officially estimated to take at least 3–5 years. One important reason why it takes so long is that there are still some core issues that need to be resolved on the original chain, including chain storage, block size, transaction throughput, state size, and network performance. It is necessary to ensure that both chains are up to the standard to complete successfully upgrade.
