Yet Another Satoshi Candidate, This Time Linked to Pablo Escobar

There’s yet another surprise theory in the search for the identity of Bitcoin (BTC) creator Satoshi Nakamoto, courtesy of associates to the Escobar family. On June 6, CoinTelegraph spoke over the phone with Olof Gustafsson, the CEO of Escobar Inc and close associate of Roberto Escobar, Pablo Escobar’s brother.

Gustafsson tells the media outlet that Satoshi Nakamoto is Yasutaka Nakamoto, someone who smuggled drugs for Pablo Escobar. He also alleges that Yusataka Nakamoto is the brother of Dorian Nakamoto.

Familiar with microprocessors and semiconductors, Yasutaka Nakamoto never pledged his loyalty, according to the article. He disappeared in 1992 following an apparent assassination attempt. This event was covered in the Los Angeles Times on October 1, 1992. The news report reads,

Hughes employee Yasutaka A. Nakamoto, 39, at first thought his car had been burglarized because the window had been broken, Sgt. Andy Gonis said. He then found the device under the seat.

The device was a pipe bomb, stowed underneath the seat. This is the only known public record of Yasutaka Nakamoto, who disappeared after that day. Long story short, they state that this Yasutaka Nakamoto is Satoshi Nakamoto.

The motivation to come out with this knowledge now is because of Craig Wright’s claims that he is Satoshi Nakamto, the article says - “to set the record straight.” The complications continue, with Gustafsson saying that Dorian had met with Roberto Escobar.

However, like all theories about Satoshi’s identity, take it with a grain of salt. There has been no conclusive proof yet, though new theories arise every so often.
