When you Think of India , the First city you Probably think of is Delhi . New Delhi is the capital city of India and has many remarkable historical places which makes it perfect as a city on Upland . The capital of India and also its most populous city, with a population of over 25.2 million people. It's also one of the most diverse cities in India, with a large number of places of interest to see. Here are some best places which makes the city special and which are the reasons for it to be present on Upland.

1. Peaceful Akshardham Temple

Starting with my favourite place in the city - Akshardham Mandir, or Swaminarayan Akshardham, is a Hindu mandir (temple) in Gandhinagar, Gujarat, India. It was inaugurated in 2005 by Pramukh Swami Maharaj, the then spiritual leader of BAPS Swaminarayan Sanstha. The mandir has 108 rooms spread across 108 acres and contains paintings that depict various aspects of Lord Rama and Lord Krishna.

Inside the mandir are eight permanent temples, a few chapels, a 24-hour museum, a separate small museum, a 175-foot-long hall, 25 arcades, a 3,000-seat auditorium, a common building and a hotel. It’s known as the “world’s largest indoor exhibit of religious artwork,” according to Urdu Today. The mandir is open on seven days a week, with traditional offerings like samosas, curries, and sweets available.

Why is this My favourite place in the city - It's a temple but Its Automated and full of tech inventions like robots doing some stage performances . Every thing seems to be so real and this place is so big that it takes  an entire day to fully explore it . It has a boat ride which is my personal favourite .

2 . Humayun's Tomb

Humayun's tomb is great example of Mughal architecture. The tomb was commissioned by Humayun's first wife and chief consort Bega Begum in 1569-70, built by a team of Persian architects led by Mirak Mirza Ghiyas, and completed in 1572.The beauty of the structure is undisputed. The intricate carvings, the exquisite light, and the simple but meaningful decor make it an astounding structure. There are seven entrances, each with a unique feature, which makes it easy to enter or exit. Sometimes, one needs to take outside stairs based on the weather.
But be careful! This structure is listed under the internationally protected heritage list in India, and visitors must have proper permissions to enter and explore.
Another thing to note is that there are delights everywhere. For instance, do a walk on a clear day, and you’re sure to see many tanks and waterfalls.
There are many sights to do and see on foot while in this Indian capital. One thing I like to do in India is to do a mural walk, and I do it every week.
My other favourite landmark is the Rashtrapati Bhawan, or ghost palace. The building is an architectural masterpiece. It’s listed as a cultural monument under the heritage list. It’s a palace built by Mughal emperor, Akbar. This palace was used as a palace, a observatory, a theater, a hospital, and as a madrassa.

3. Qutub Minar

Qutub Minar is a minaret that was built by Qutb-ud-din Aybak in 1193, in Delhi, India, which later became the Mehrauli Archaeological Park. This is one of the world’s oldest continually functioning mosques. Founded by the Indian caliph (ruler) Abu Bakr (or, also, his adopted grandson) in the 6th century, the Mosque is located in East Delhi, a neighborhood of Delhi.
This is an incredible place to visit. You can wander around and admire some retro equipment found inside and other artifacts that were part of the film industry when India was a colony of the British.

4. Lotus Temple

Its a lotus shaped structure for prayers and many pea ceful things .The place is visited by the public quite often, especially during the winters.

5. India Gate

The India GATE is a war memorial located in New Delhi, India which commemorates the 90,000 soldiers of the Indian Army who lost their lives in World War I and World War II. The India Gate is a 42-metre high archway built with red and yellow sandstone and surrounded by large gardens. The country gate was dedicated on August 15th, 1940 by the first Indian Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru.
