The smaller entities are pushed out by regulatory pressures in favour of established players. The idea of core development teams is that they have a great deal of power within the system and this can be conflicted to the decentralized concept used for bitcoin. In light of fast changing landscape, Bitcoins future hinges on careful balancing of innovativeness, decentralisation as well as adherence to existing laws.
