Once again, the Trump government is on the verge of committing an act that could have highly negative consequences for the entire technology community.

This all started a long time ago, to be exactly one year after Trump took office as President of the United States. He signed an authorization for the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) to begin conducting cyber attacks.

The three previous presidents made these requests, however, they were rejected. Now with this precedent, the United States would be working as it did in the Cold War period.

It is only a precedent because, since 2018, the CIA has been working on attacks on the technological infrastructure of countries that oppose them.

Even according to the Yahoo News website, this petition was promoted by the National Security Council in alliance with the CIA. It gives it the ability to launch offensive attacks against countries like China, Russia, Iran, North Korea, and Venezuela.

With the arrival of John Bolton to the Security Council in 2018, he opened a high percentage for security measures to change completely. Moreover, in his current book, he explained that the idea was to eliminate what Obama had done and thus have total control of cyberspace.

All these ideas were to act as a step in the Cold War to act against non-state actors. Although a plan to attack Russia had been activated at that time, Trump said NO since, for the first one, there is Iran so that that government could collapse.

What he does know is that thanks to Wikileaks in 2017, they leaked the information of the hacking tools used by the CIA called (Vault 7).

And that it is cataloged as the worst data loss for this security agency. Although possible attacks are unknown, the cryptocurrencies may be on the radar.

It gives the Agency the power to attack certain platforms that, according to them, "can attack their sovereignty and security". Something that will undoubtedly give a lot to talk up.
