The USA state of Arizona is famous as "crypto-friendly." For example, in 2017, Arizona's State Senate passed bill SB1091 which legalizes blockchain technology for record-keeping in state government.

Another example is that in 2018, the Arizona State Senate passed a bill recognizing smart contracts and blockchain signatures as legally binding. The bill also allows for corporations to hold and share data on a blockchain. While in 2019, Arizona's senate passed bill SB1145, which allows residents to pay taxes using Bitcoin or other cryptos.

At the same time, the case is that the use and regulation of digital currencies depend on several factors,  including USA federal laws and regulations also play a role in determining how cryptocurrencies can be used and regulated.

A recent proposal by Arizona State Senator Wendy Rogers (R) in practice to make Bitcoin legal tender in the state. The bill, titled SB 1235, is part of other proposals that allow Arizona agencies to accept cryptocurrencies as a payment method for collecting rent, taxes, and fines. This means that during this year, Arizona could already become a state with Bitcoin as a state-level currency. Stay tuned.
