The Sovereign Individual: Entry 1 / Introduction

Do repost and rate:

This is the first journal entry of my Crypto Chronicles, reviewing the books, works and insights gained since tumbling down the Bitcoin rabbit hole; to share my findings while reaching out to others that may cross this path and offer direction into a new age of personal liberties and the expansion of honest economies via hyper-bitcoinization. This short video summarizes the first book, "The Sovereign Individual", that I believe all should dive into to truly understand the implications of encryption and AI and how the layer of protection provided by cryptography and distributed LEDGER technology form a foundational base for the virtue and integrity of FREEDOM, to be expressed in a truly free-market and how the coming decade will be pivotal for Humankind's advancement towards Peace and Integrity ~*~

I hope you'll find, "The Sovereign Individual", to be as enlightening as I have.

Sailing into the crypto space during the highs of 2017, through the bulls and the bears, it wasn't until 2021 that a voice from a decade before Bitcoin even existed, truly set in the elemental understanding for me, of the value behind this innovation of Bitcoin. The violence that has set the blood money of fiat into circulation is burned into the collective psyche  on a global scale. We all know it is based on a dirty, ugly lie, and that there could be a better way. Bitcoin is an opportunity to opt out, to dissent against the violence of money and choose more peaceful tools to accomplish trade between our societies at all levels on a global scale. Through these chronicles of my path, I offer a foundation for new entries down the Bitcoin rabbit hole, with an ingrained call throughout the Metaverse and beyond for guidance and direction forward.

As a self-professed understudy of Robert Breedlove, I became enlightened by "The Sovereign Individual", set in the 1997 forecasting of James Dale Davidson and Lord William Rees-Mogg.  They foresaw then, the functioning of human society in the process of a social re-structuring and revolution into the next stage of human organization, trending increasingly away from the violence that our current system had been built upon; from Hunter-Gatherer, to Agricultural, then Industrial before dawning into the 1970's, as the pioneers of the Informational Age. Each developmental stage of social organization has been imbued with distinct strategies that strive for more honest and efficient economies, and the production, distribution, and consumption of resources within and between groups and individuals, has long been exploited by corrupting the standard monetary vehicle. In spanning civilizations' rise from the Egyptian and Persian eras to the Roman Empire, the Medieval World to the Colonial; the organization of violence has been the authority by which every existing Nation-State has come to power. These institutions of authority rose from the most primitive specialists of violence, transitioning into the Agricultural Revolution to the gatekeepers of Religion, again transitioning that authoritative power during the Industrial Revolution from Religion to the Nation-State, and with the Information Revolution, that power has the potential to transition from the Nation-State to the Sovereign Individual.

Thermodynamically, the marketplace can be thought of in terms of energy. Work is an exchange of energy for resources with innate incentives of productivity to conserve energy and increase returns. Theft is the opposite of work and is gained non-consensually through extraction or coercion, even if just premised on the fear of violence, including involuntary confinement or stripping of liberties by the force of any given "authority". Technology has long been a tool of economies to conserve energy and increase returns. This, for example, undercut the monopoly of the church on information when the printing press was invented, opening the doors to transition power to the Nation-States. Now, the digital age and encryption allow for a layer of protection for the individual against extortion and extraction of any Nation State, worldwide.

Considering in the United States for example, according to Tax Foundation, "In 2018, the top 50 percent of all taxpayers paid 97 percent of all individual income taxes, while the bottom 50 percent paid the remaining 2.9 percent."

If just a fraction of the top income earners decided to use this technology to opt-out of the extraction of their work and labor, to be likely spent on wars that most would not voluntarily contribute, Nation-State earnings will fall drastically and budget-deficits will follow, leading to the fall of that State. In their fall,  Roman aristocrats, dictators, Lords, Monarchs, Popes, and likely Nation-States as well, resort to the known levers of violence in an attempt to control, restrict or hinder the threatening technology in an attempt to preserve the privileges accustomed to their class.

Rees-Mogg and Davidson offer a logical dissection of democracy by comparing the leading corporations picking CEOs based on popularity contests and that even the most representative personalities of their constituents desires as the funnel point for pushing through advancement in society, is an inadequate and outdated mode of solving the problems we care about most. The growing political divisions are a symptom of such mob rule mentality at war. Might there be a solution that is found without violence or force? The information age is developing the tools that social progress and cohesiveness can be attained voluntarily and more efficiently without the excessive waste of bureaucracy.

Along with political divisions, they predict that patriotism based solely on place of birth, to be replaced with localities creating jurisdictions according to interests with citizens pledging allegiance according to the services provided by the jurisdictions each might choose among. Various values of these jurisdictions would collectively fund those interests accordingly, in contractually governed degrees of interest from, arts, equality, agriculture, technology, fashion, and perhaps infinitely on and so forth.... This freedom to diversify social organization is far more adept at progressing human evolution by allowing reality to filter what works best rather than imposing the will of any selected few on global megalithic scales.

This can already be seen within the U.S. in the migration between states and the diversity of values legislated between the regions of California and Texas, for example. It will be interesting to see the trajectory of El Salvador as the first Nation-State to adopt the digital currency, Bitcoin as legal tender; or city municipalities allocating a small portion of their budget into Bitcoin mining, along with creating the renewable energy infrastructure,  looking into the future of offering incentives for economic activity in their jurisdictions with the free energy it can possibly create down the road for their citizens as an enticement.

Of the services provided by the State, the most needed that exists for the citizen as a consumer, is for protection. The authors of The Sovereign Individual (SI), reference the evolution of protection and rise of power through capitalization of violence as articulated in the works of Frederic C. Lane, implying all positions of megalithic power through politics and institutions have been acquired through violent means. These, specialists of violence,  were the winners of the wars and conflicts, most capable of projecting power and exerting authority over each governable domain, in the numerous nation-states we see today.  When the violence deployed by Nation States leads to diminishing returns on that violence, the State model is likely to change from extraction of work and labor from citizens to protection as a service in voluntary exchange. In market terms, government functions mostly as a provider of protection through police services, court systems, and military with use of violence as the enforcement ethos. In their perspectives from 1997, the SI authors commend enforcement of law and order in Switzerland among the Nation-State providers of protection, to be the least violent, spending less on infrastructure and services while producing lower murder and crime rates without the mass incarceration rates that inhibit productivity, to be among the least infringing and most efficient of the Nation-State protection service providers. Yet even in this leading role, a comparison of costs for such services with the taxes collected, shows even this provision to be rampant with inefficiencies and waste.

The book defines the factors behind Mega geopolitical power and the rising technocracy gaining power by exploiting the digital space to disrupt factors that historic tactics of violence and coercion depend upon. This restructuring will likely transition value attributed of  every birth under such nationalist regimes, considered only by virtue of the territory chosen or occupied by the parents when born, as an asset of the state, and additional collateral against the debt of the Treasury's balance-sheet, into a citizenry in which the establishment is built to serve .

Whether it is in the name of Communism, Democratic -Socialism, Capitalism, or any other -ism in whatever combination, the structure of social organization that depends on violence will eventually be outdated by emerging structures that depend more on choice than by force. Efficiency deprives the necessity for coercion and is explained by the authors from an economic lens rather than political. Analyzing the incentives of government control economically, run by either proprietors, employees, or customers. The in-depth comparison flushes out that market forces will flow towards highest efficiency to meet the demands of participants. In the Industrial Age, magnitude was more valuable for the growth of social order than efficiency, but as we strive for our species to be more peaceful and less violent, we strive to be more efficient. Democracy inhibits the efficiency of market flows as seen in the multiple examples of market interventions on behalf of the governing democracy. Though this played a part in the evolution of humankind, democracy becomes a relic in the information age as new options emerge that empower individual freedom over any 51% democratically chosen -ism to be imposed by military force onto all.

Rather than going any deeper into translating the remaining insights gained from the perspective of The Sovereign Individual from 1997, I invite you to read or listen to the audible book further on your own and to view the 2 minute clips of "Utopia" and "Dystopia" (produced by @tip_nz, with links included in the details section) to see the potential direction that AI and encryption could lead us.

And on that note, I leave this journal entry to the Soundtrack of another great find coincidentally from 1997 as well.....

"Wandering Star" by Policia to lead us into the sunset of the possible future ahead of us today because of Bitcoin

...... if only we collectively choose.

A GLOBAL peer to peer network of value exchange,  peacefully chosen without the violence of force or coercion, a permissionless, incorruptible, impartial decentralized service network bound by participant incentives and game theory to facilitate the hard standard which backs sound money. In the charting of digital space, Bitcoin is King with non-replicable decentralized distribution and first to market network effects, protected from seizure by an electronic standing army of military grade encryption.

My call rings out into the Metaverse and to the Bitcoin OGs, if I haven't encapsulated it fully enough, what might I be missing in a foundation, as I have come to learn of the philosophy and place that Bitcoin holds in the Mega Political transitions of power playing out all around us globally.

I've provided links to the sources I've used in the references section below

Subscribe and all that, to keep our energy circulating towards a peaceful monetary revolution set to transform us all into the Sovereign Individual

I've also just joined the Lightning Network and welcome any tips or even just to test out the service if you like ;)
