Should we Live a "centralized" Life? And What does that mean? Lessons from Covid (and Crime)!

Do repost and rate:

Pre-Covid, I think many observers would agree there was a "trend" to locate/migrate to city and urban localities.  In the USA, millenials alone when surveyed, would say "inner city" was where "it was at".  Uber was part in parcel of this new trend, saying "you don't need a car, just call an Uber"!  And if you didn't want a car, then you "got around" via a combined use of public transportation and Uber/Lyft type services.  Covid has caused many of us to "re-think" the wisdom of people crowded into densley packed apartment or shared tenant style dwellings.  Clearly "new/novel" desease "agents" - whether they be viral or otherwise - have a greater spread capability or "attack surface" in dense and shared housing configurations vs in "spread out" living conditions like the suburbs or single/separate dwelling places/units.

Clearly desease spreads faster in densely populated and shared dwelling spaces - especially when a "new" virus/agent is introduced into these types of centralized living areas.  It's bad enough when a "new" virus/agent is introduced to people period!

Historically, the world has witnessed/documented desease occurances.  When Columbus discovered the Americas many of the locals died from disease brought from “afar” / Covid has again revealed this danger.  And Covid's effects were amplified for those living “too close” and in "concentrations" (Cities).

Then there is the "crime thing".  For at least 1/2 the country (USA), we are dumb founded by the seemingly lack of common sense of big citiy authorities who seemed to just let "crime" run rampant.  Again, at least 1/2 of us, feel this behavior is all political.  But whether political or not, it doesn't matter - we just want "out" of these areas - where the authorities aren't doing their most basic job (protect and serve).  At least 1/2 the country now views these kinds of "authorities" as the enemy - or at least to be avoided ( because of their behavior and actions ).

These two things alone (are these black swans?  is that the appropriate event descriptor - or is that forbiden?) are enough for many to find "rest" in what they believe is a more sane society and location (one that believes in the oppositie of centralization and free range crime).  If indeed 1/2 the country voted for the "other half" - we indeed have a major split occuring.

Many that have left the centralized onclaves - don't want to go back for a while.  Those who stayed want everyone to take a pill (vacine) in order to "re-join" central society - but that is just for Covid, what about the Crime?
