Spend a bit more effort into learning about the kinds of wallets and what their risks are. Even if you make your New Year's resolution. Unfortunately, even though so many people have been sscam and hacked since Bitcoin started, no one is really listening to the advice "NOT YOUR KEYS, NOT YOUR COINS". If you do not use trading coins, there is no reason to leave funds in custodial wallets and exchanges. And yes, Coins.ph is under custodial wallet / exchange.

By storing your funds in custodial wallets and exchanges, here are some of the risks: If the custodial wallet or exchange is hacked, you will be killed. Your custodial wallet or exchange account can be locked for whatever reason, and sometimes it is very difficult to gain back access.

Enforced unnecessary KYC etc Question: "But .. Coins.ph hasn't been hacked yet ah? This wallet / exchange is safe .." - Yes. Bitfinex and MtGox were also "unhacked" before and at some point right? People also think these platforms are very safe. But what happened? People who store bitcoin in these exchanges have lost their bitcoin. Props to Coins.ph for providing good service to us, but always remember that exchanges are a hot target for hackers because they can get a lot if they are successful in hacking it. Let's not wait for Coins.ph to hack before we learn.

Security Tips:

1. Do not just submit personal information on any website.

2. Use a different password on all online accounts, preferably, with 40+ characters. To avoid inconvenience, use reputable password managers such as KeePass and Bitwarden. Also, make sure the password of your password manager is secure.

3. Change passwords, especially finance related accounts, every few months or so.

4. Use a Linux operating system instead of Windows, to reduce the chances of your computer having malware / virus. For beginners, go with Ubuntu or Linux Mint.

5. Check email addresses at haveibeenpwned.com once in a while.
