Matthew Larby?—?Realm Maker: Hey there, my name is Matthew Larby, I am the founder and CEO of Realm. I have been building with hardware and software for the last 20 years with the last decade focussed on software.
Joban: Sure! I’m Joban and I have been involved in tech startups and crypto for many years. I love building great products with super clean UX and elegant solutions. I take the role of CPO, Creative Director and have also been a CTO and technical consultant for large brands and startups.
Matthew Larby?—?Realm Maker: I previously founded a web 2.0 tech business with Joban:where we built an internal GPS system and an ecommerce software layer that connected people with the services that were available in the buildings they use. We eventually sold that business to a tech billionaire who had a large commercial property portfolio.

Sure so we are up to 12 engineers now, 3 blockchain specialists who have worked at places like the german govt on blockchain. 6 full stack engineers, some doctors of maths and machine learning. Then on the creative side people like Saiful who did creative for Avatar and worked at Riot games

I understand that i can create my own REALM even i can combine music, art, and games to create the perfect realm, i can Plant trees to make food & feed pets too. it seems to me amazing, it’s magical all the options we have here, but it sounds a little difficult to me too. How easy is create a REALM? Does it need some special technical knowledges or can anyone do it without problems? All of this is beautiful, but i wonder where will save my microverse? Do i need an app for doing everything i mentioned before?
Matthew Larby?—?Realm Maker: I will let joban answer how to make a realm and I will explain that you can just explore realms and discover NFTs so you don’t need any special skills to start with Realm
Joban: Great question! So we’re working on providing tools for users of all types?—?we want Realm to be accessible so that some people can create super technical visions and others can choose a template and display their NFTs and socialise with their friends
For example, non-technical players can choose from several Realm templates, such as Art Gallery, Cyberpunk, Samurai to easily create their own space. For skilled creators, Godot allows us to provide advanced tools for creation. Realm will ultimately contain a fully fledged gaming ecosystem hosting features such as physics, game mechanics, and monetisation opportunities.

Joban: We’re working on creating simple on-ramps. Realms themselves are NFTs so there is always an element of crypto?—?but we will make it as smooth as possible !

It is known that the transactions and minting of NFTs have a big environmental impact since an NFT transaction can reach a carbon footprint of 48kg CO2, so it got my attention that you plant real trees when trees are planted in Realm. Is this your way of balancing the carbon emissions generated by NFTs? Are Realm and the technology it uses environmental-friendly?
Gold Rocket | Satoshi Club: It seems amazing to me too! you are green!
Matthew Larby?—?Realm Maker: Great question. We’ve spent a long time thinking about how virtual worlds can impact the real world. We are using Polygon to be more efficient when processing transactions. So for instance, a transaction processed on Polygon is about 8500x less emissions than a transaction processed on Layer 1 Ethereum.
So to counteract the small amount of CO2 we emit, we have partnered with Eden Reforestation, who will plant trees in real life every time someone plants a virtual tree in Realm.
When you plant virtual trees in Realm, they make fruit which the pets and creatures that live in realms eat. This creates an economy inside realms that also fixes the real world.
It’s very important that we become carbon neutral using these mechanisms as it helps us appeal to a broad market and also means the mainstream press will cover our metaverse.
We really want the whole world to experience Realm, not just crypto people as it makes for a strong business and token.

Andres M. | Satoshi Club: That’s a great strategy, what other benefits will receive the players? Is there any staking or farming feature?

How many evolutions can a single pet have in Realm? It is said that Pets evolve based on realms they visit, but is there a limit of evolutions? Also, what advanced features could be unlocked through the evolutions of the pets?
Matthew Larby?—?Realm Maker: The short answer is infinite and that’s why it’s so important to do this on the blockchain, we literally have no idea what could come out 100 years later. @Joban_T will add more info
Joban: We looked to the concept of epigenetics for the ways in which pets mutate?—?they are affected by their parents genes, their surroundings, and the interactions they have. There is no theoretical limit to the impact of these, and the pet breeding and mutation is something that will evolve organically from the genesis of each pet species.
Andres M. | Satoshi Club: $Realm tokens are needed to use the platform? Then, how we can buy the token? Where is listed?
Joban: We are using Chainlink VRF for the randomisation of values in the genetic algorithms, so that everyone can be sure that the numbers are verifiably fair.
Yes REALM is the primary utility token of the platform

Realm features ultra high quality of graphics using Augmented Reality applied into a mobile application. By the concept, I can see it very similar to the popular game “Pokemon Go” where users travel to be able to play the game. Is it inspired by the said game? How does the game really work? Will the game be available in Virtual Reality (VR) too to further enhance user experience?
Matthew Larby?—?Realm Maker: We definitely like Pokemon Go and we are designing Realm to include some of those fun types of features such as interacting with an NFT in Augmented Reality. Where we differ is we are cross platform so you can play Realm on your PC or mobile. Joban: We have partnered with Reef Finance to build on Reef Chain, which is a substrate chain that launched last week. This is a good stepping stone to the wider Polkadot ecosystem. We are partnering with Polygon and will do most of our ETH transactions on their sidechain.

Users will be able to create their own Realm where they can combine music, art, and games to create the perfect realm and mint it as an ERC-1155. Will there be limitations and copyright checks on the content users can use? If a user mints their own art or music, will they be entitled for royalties if their content is used in other realms? I am excited about your idea to plant a tree for every tree planted in Realm, this is an amazing initiative! I hope you can keep up with demand
Matthew Larby?—?Realm Maker: Ok this is a few questions
: Yes you can combine music art etc into your realm and then mint it as an ERC1155. You cannot breach copyright law and we are going to implement machine learning to highlight NFTs that are clearly copies. When we find a copy the NFT will go to a decentralised moderation panel who can limit the visibility of that art but not remove it from the blockchain
A for royalties of your own NFTs, they can be automatically split between multiple people and after multiple sales

How are the exhibitions going to be organized? Are the galleries always open or will they be organized through scheduled events?
Joban: Good question?—?a gallery owner can choose to put events on whenever they want and for as long as they want. When you purchase an NFTix it could be for a year’s entry or just for a few days or hours. You will be able to purchase tickets in our super clean mobile app.

In order to succeed, most projects aim to grow their network and collaborate with new groups. Could you elaborate on the REALM collaboration strategy?
Could you please provide us with an update on your Roadmap’s progress and the accomplishments REALM has achieved so far? Is there any information about REALM 2021 plans?
Matthew Larby?—?Realm Maker: Yes so we are partnering with NFT creators who have NFTs that they want to bring to life in a virtual game type environment. We are partnering with tier 1 NFT artists to give them better spaces to exhibit their work, for instance we include live audio like Clubhouse App into the realm that is displaying the NFT art.
In terms of the roadmap for 2021, we have basically finished our smart contracts, Layer 2 integrations on polygon etc. Going forward we are focussed on the simple creator tools that enable you to make realms easier, on the smart objects that enable you to monetise a realm, eg adding a virtual shop to the realm and finally on building more cool realms for people to explore and pets to find ; )

Actually I understand about competition and staking but what about loot eggs? Can you explain about loot eggs? And what other uses cases for Realm token?
Joban: Loot eggs have lots of uses?—?they can be found throughout the microverses, or you can purchase rare eggs that may contain super rare pets or other special NFTs. The eggs can exist on Reef Chain, Polygon and ETH layer 1?—?and the contents could prove very valuable.

It will be as easy as fortnite to build with our creation tools. But if you are advanced you can use your existing programs and import the work into Realm via our import pipelines

Joban: Godot is a powerful, lightweight, and community-driven game engine that is very different to centralised engines such as Unity and Unreal. Working withGodot means the Realm engine is completely independent of any centralised entity who could impose censorship or control. It also is very lightweight and we can build easily for all platforms?—?you wont have to download a 1.5GB game file like most unity / unreal games!

Also as bigger realms are made we will ask creators to lock up $REALM tokens which will reduce the supply over time. The bigger we make the virtual world the more transactions and less supply = price up
