Birds appear more and more regularly in places where they have been fed for many years. Young tits arrive, sometimes their parents, young jays and, of course, jackdaws.
Ptaki pojawiajace sie coraz gromadniej w miejscach gdzie przez wiele lat byly dokarmiane pojawiaja sie juz regularnie. Przylatuja mlode sikorki, czasami tez ich rodzice, mlodzitkie sojki no i oczywiscie kawki.
From their appearance you can see that they are a young generation, not yet familiar with the feeder, but they learn very quickly. Initially, when I threw them peanuts, they ran away, then, distrustfully, walking slightly sideways, they approached the food, quickly grabbed it with their beaks and flew away. Now they politely line up in front of the bench and wait for food. A lovely view.
Po wygladzie widac, ze to mlode pokolenie, jeszcze nie oswojone z karmicielem, ale za to bardzo szybko sie ucza. Poczatkowo, gdy rzucalem im orzeszki uciekaly, po czym nieufnie, idac lekko bokiem zblizaly sie do pokarmu, szybko chwytaly dziobem i odlatywaly. Teraz juz grzecznie ustawiaja sie przed lawka i czekaja na pokarma. Przesympatyczny widok.
I don't spoil them too much because they get shelled peanuts. They had trouble with them at first, but after a few tries they learned how to split them. They hold a nut with their claws and effectively make a hole in it with their beak. Once a small hole appears in the nut, they break off pieces of the shell to get to the desired nut.
Nie rozpieszczam ich za bardzo bo dostaja orzeszki ziemne w lupinkach. Poczatkowo mialy z nimi problem, ale po kilku probach nauczyly sie je rozlupywac. Przytrzymuja sobie szponami orzecha i skutecznie dziobem robia w nim otwor. Gdy juz pojawi sie mala dziurka w orzechu, odlamuja kawalki skorupki, by dostac sie do upragnionego orzeszka.
I really like these birds for their exceptional intelligence and quick adaptation to conditions. They are not aggressive, and they look almost with pity at magpies that steal their food.
Bardzo lubie te ptaki, za wyjatkowa inteligencje i szybkie dostosowywanie sie do warunkow. Nie sa agresywne, a na sroki, ktore podbieraja im pokarm patrza niemal z politowaniem.
I hope they will stay with me all winter. They will then be able to count on a daily supply of nuts and other prisms, sunflower seeds or hazelnuts.
Mam nadieje, ze zostana ze mna przez cala zime. Beda mogly wtedy liczyc na codzienna partie orzechow i innych prysmakow, ziaren slonecznika, czy orzechow laskowych.
I noticed that their favorite thing is raisins. They absolutely love them and enjoy eating them. But it's probably natural, because dried fruit on trees is their daily food.
Zauwazylem, ze ich przysmakiem sa rodzynki. Uwielbiaja je wrecz i rozposzuja sie ich zjadaniem. Ale to chyba naturalne, bo zasuszone owoce na drzewach stnowia ich codzienny pokarm.
