Welcome to another episode of our AMA series. Today we are glad to tell you about the AMA session with our friends from MoonEdge, the first decentralized Launchpad fully dedicated to project launches on Polygon. The AMA took place on May 21 and our guest was MoonPillar, Co-Founder and CEO of MoonEdge

The total reward pool was 500$ and was divided into three parts. In this AMA Recap we will try to summarize some of the most interesting points for you.

PART 1, INTRODUCTION AND COMMUNITY QUESTIONS

Gold Rocket | Satoshi Club: Hello, dear community! We are pleased to announce our next AMA with MoonEdge. Today our guest is @MoonPillar!

MoonPillar: Hey! Thank you very much for having us, you are a wonderful community!

Andres M. | Satoshi Club: How are you?

MoonPillar: Doing great! We are working hard to bring the Launchpad that Polygon deserves!

Gold Rocket | Satoshi Club: Please, let’s start with a little intro! tell us about yourself. How did you develop in crypto? how did you get into MoonEdge?

MoonPillar: Sure! I’m a Co-Founder and CEO of MoonEdge. I went through a strange but interesting journey: I’m a graduate student in mechanical engineering with a particular interest for computer science. I am completing my master’s degree on the use of artificial intelligence for prosthetic control in robotics. I also co-founded a startup that offers cloud-based restaurant management solutions with artificial intelligence for sales forecasting that leverages big data.

I learnt about bitcoin back in 2013 and bought some back then, more out of curiosity than as an investment. Then, my love of cutting-edge technology made me discover Ethereum back in 2015 and since then, I have been heavily invested into crypto (mostly in projects on Ethereum or working close to this ecosystem).

The idea of MoonEdge came first when we saw the rug-pulls problem on BSC and wanted to avoid this kind of scams on Polygon. We then pushed further the idea to come with a way to bring a fair Launchpad to Polygon at the same time, with a low entry barrier, so even smaller investors can participate in any IDO. We are also working on further incentivation mechanisms and will always continue to refine our system to stay competitive and adapted to the ecosystem.

Gold Rocket | Satoshi Club: What is the essence of your project? How long does it take to develop MoonEdge? What plans do you have for the future? And what can we expect from MoonEdge?

MoonPillar: MoonEdge is the first decentralized Launchpad fully dedicated to project launches on Polygon (previously Matic). Our mission is to offer easier token distribution, to facilitate fundraising for new projects, and to guarantee project legitimacy on our platform.

We have been developing and refining our platform for the last 3 months. We also went through a long fundraising process to assure that we find the best partners for the long-term development of MoonEdge! We plan to be in constant evolution to adapt to the crypto ecosystem. We are also working hard to bring more projects to Polygon, and working closely with the Polygon team to do so. Shout-out to the Polygon’s team by the way! Amazing team totally devoted to their project and community.

Gold Rocket | Satoshi Club: BTW… We also would like to know about your team. Who is on the project team core?

MoonPillar: The MoonEdge team consists of 5 crypto veterans as well as two great advisors that helped masterfully with the development and marketing of the project. We will present these advisors in the upcoming weeks at the same time as a partners and strategic investors reveal.

A little bit more about the team… we have one CEO (your humble servant) who also know how to code

, two experienced backend developers, a full stack developer that can literally do magic and an awesome graphic designer solo team.

Q1 from Telegram user @doithay1617

MoonEdge is the first decentralized launch pad fully dedicated to IDO on Polygon. What was the idea that made MoonEdge choose Polygon over other platforms like: Ethereum, BSC…? Can you give us some more information about IDO on MoonEdge? Is KYC required or any requirements?

MoonPillar: We all know the Ethereum pitfalls: fees skyrocket as well as the transaction times. But at the same time, Ethereum is the most decentralized and vibrant crypto ecosystem. This is why we looked for a protocol that work closely to Ethereum: a protocol that keeps a high level of decentralization and security, but that is more than a plain layer 2 scaling solution.

Why did we choose Polygon? it has all the necessary elements to be the key Ethereum scaling solution leader:

-A growing developer community

-A production-ready and easy-to-use platform

-Already a lot of great projects are migrating from layer 1 (Ethereum) to Polygon

-A high level of decentralization and high security

– The lowest gas cost and near-instant transactions

The IDO on MoonEdge will initially be a two rounds system. In the first round, each MoonEdge participant has a guaranteed allocation (based on tier) during a pre-determined timeframe. In the second round, unsold tokens are reallocated based on our tier-system and are sold on FCFS (first-come, first-served) basis. Only the people that participated in the first round can take part in the second round. We are also exploring other mechanisms to get a sustainable model for the mid- to long-term. We won’t reveal them for now since there are a lot of copycats around!

And yes, KYC will be required because of the heavy regulations on launchpads and IDOs. We know it is not perfect, but we must do it since the platform isn’t totally decentralized at launch (not a full DAO). A project launching a platform like MoonEdge needs to take the legal side seriously or face a lot of legality issues otherwise!

Q2 from Telegram user @johana0012

Finally, the MoonEdge team is dedicated to providing the best experience for all investors seeking high-yield opportunities. Matic is positioning itself as a pioneer in scaling solutions for Ethereum and that more and more projects will want to launch on Matic due to cost and speed. Is MoonEdge the first decentralized launch pad fully dedicated to project launching on Matic (now Polygon)? What is the purpose of MoonEdge? What characteristics do they meet to achieve a simpler token distribution? Are your plans to facilitate fundraising for new projects and ensure the legitimacy of the project on the MoonEdge platform?

MoonPillar: We are the first decentralized launch pad fully dedicated to projects launching on Polygon and we perform a full due diligence before hosting any project on MoonEdge. We have been building the Launchpad in the last 3 months and have not launched yet because we want to be 100% ready and offer the best experience possible to our community!

Most of the current launchpads are based on a lottery system to decide who can participate in IDOs. This leaves room for bots to abuse the system and hog a large portion of allocations.

There are also totally decentralized launchpads, where anyone can launch any projects they can imagine. Even if there are some securities to avoid complete rug-pulls, no one is reviewing projects before hosting them on these fully decentralized launchpads. Thus, nobody is carefully assessing the project’s quality, the teams experience, the development stage, etc.

MoonEdge uses a strict selection process to determine projects eligibility for launch, ensuring that only top-tier projects are brought to our community, minimizing the risks of scams and/or rug-pulls. With the two rounds system, we offer a fair and easy way for project to distribute their tokens to a wide community whilst also helping them do their fundraising to support even further their development.

Andres M. | Satoshi Club: What is the most important item for projects to be eligible?

MoonPillar: The team is a great factor as well as the development stage of the project.

Q3 from Telegram user @Giniwhite

About MoonEdge reward mechanisms. How does this mechanism work? what are the innovations of this system? How do you guarantee to keep users in the long term being in such a competitive field?

MoonPillar: MoonEdge will firstly release a tiered-system composed of 4 tiers (the first one will be designed to have a very low entry barrier, to give everyone a chance to participate in IDOs).

We will have a special tier for our community supporters. This pool will serve the purpose to reward MoonEdge supporters for more than the number of tokens that they hold. It will be released a little bit after the launch to reflect our core values of complete fairness and open inclusion; no matter the portfolio size, everyone is welcomed!

Other incentive mechanisms are to be added after the launch to reward our long-term supporter. We did a lot of research to come up with our best reward system. After the few tests left, they will be ready to be released! We will also use the data generated by each IDO to fine-tune the Launchpad and thus, improve not only the user experience but mostly the MoonEdge’s architecture.

Gold Rocket | Satoshi Club: Please tell us, could you share your roadmap?

MoonPillar: In Q2, on launch day, the Launchpad will be fully ready to launch projects. We will then release incentive mechanisms to reward our community and support MoonEdge further. The partnership development will continue on. Exploration of a NFT Launchpad is also something for which interest was sparked by one of our experienced partners in the domain (to be revealed soon). Moving to Q3, we will gradually implement our governance system, starting with community voting. Refinement of our tiered-systems and the addition of new mechanisms to assure long-term support of projects and MoonEdge will come next. In Q4, MoonEdge will migrate toward a full DAO.

A lot of other features and refinement will also be added along the road, so this is only a quick summary!

Q4 from Telegram User @yellowchamp

MoonEdge is creating a fair system that allows investors with any capital size to have a guaranteed allocation in every IDO. No exceptions. There will also be no unfair mechanics, such as a lottery, that advantages bots. We believe that a fair launch pad platform is key to greater project adoption. So, can you tell us exactly how will MoonEdge works for a fairer system? What would be the mechanics and structure of this fair system that your platform is cooking to offer to IDO investors? Do you consider a small whale or investors for this fairer system? Thank you

MoonPillar: Like said previously, we will use a two round system where everyone has a guaranteed allocation based on the fair-tiered system. This way, there will also be no unfair mechanics, such as a lottery, that advantages bots.

Smaller investors were considered in the loop since the beginning and the tiers were designed as such. The choice of building on Polygon was also partially due to the fact that transactions are super cheap, so no one is priced out from participating in IDO. It makes no sense to spend $150 of gas for a $100 allocation in a given IDO.

Our system will also stay in constant evolution. We believe in dynamic systems that can adapt to the ecosystem. This is why we will use the post-IDO data and feedback from our community to improve MoonEdge. We are also working on the integration of more features, one being the implementation of a NFT Launchpad.

Q5 from Telegram User @andrey_seleznov

The name MoonEdge invites thoughts of meme tokens and meme launchpads that are quite popular now on BSC and other chains. What projects do you plan to launch on your pad, will you concentrate on any particular segment of the market like meme tokens? Or will you have a mix of different projects that are not fitting into one theme. Thank you.

MoonPillar: We didn’t choose the name of MoonEdge to be associated with meme tokens, even though everything related to Moon can be seen as such

Polygon is all designed for gaming, NFT, social tokens and DeFi. We can see it with the kind of projects that build upon Polygon, but also the new ones that we heard about

However, we won’t restrict ourselves to only these types of project. If a project fits all our selection criteria and if our committee made of our partners agrees on hosting this particular project, it will be hosted on MoonEdge!

Andres M. | Satoshi Club: How did you choose the name of the project?

MoonPillar: We did a long brainstorming and finally decided to go with this name (also after we saw the potential graphic design that could fit well with this name). We weren’t sure between MoonEdge and MoonEdger. What would you have chosen?

Andres M. | Satoshi Club: MoonEdge was the best option, I like the concept so much.

Btw, could you tell us about your tokenomics? How is the token distribution?

MoonPillar: I think it will be easier to check the Litepaper that you can find on our website: https://moonedge.finance/. See pages 7 and 8.

Q6 from Telegram User @Pratze

I read that MoonEdge already finish doing Private Sale, can you tell us how is your Private Sale going on? Will you have another round for private sale or we must wait for your IDO/public sale?

MoonPillar: The seed and private rounds are now closed. We took the time to meet over 50 potential backers, over 100 individuals with diverse skills and experiences. We picked the ones that could bring the greatest help to MoonEdge for our long-term success!

Thanks to our team efforts and our amazing partners, we were able to onboard 100+ influencers who believe and invested in our project. We picked influencers with a global presence, but also some that target specific geographical regions. With this approach, all news and innovations coming from MoonEdge will quickly propagate around the world!

We are also establishing partnerships with other great projects to gain maximum experience and exposure. Finally, we aim to be totally transparent with our community and reward our loyal supporters, which are, as we believe, our strongest asset!

Gold Rocket | Satoshi Club: If you want you can share useful links with Satoshi Club before opening the chat.

PART 2, TELEGRAM COMMUNITY LIVE QUESTIONS

The chat was open for 120 seconds; a lot of questions were posted by Satoshi Club community. Our guest chose some of them.

Q1 from Telegram User @meml97

MoonEdge is the first decentralized launch pad fully dedicated to IDO on Polygon, so, are there any requirements do you ask for in projects before they can make their IDO on your platform? If so, which ones will those requirements be?

MoonPillar: Step 1: Every project will need to submit an application form that can be found on our website. This step serves the purpose of capturing basic information about the project. This step is mandatory for every project. Projects that do not meet all the requirements will be rejected and welcomed to reapply once they meet all requirements.

Project name;

Project website;

One pager explaining the project;

Whitepaper or Litepaper;

Details about the project development phase and progression;

Tokenomics, including previous fundraising events

Links to all the social channels used (Telegram, Twitter, Discord, Medium, etc.);

Contact information.

Step2: All the information received during the first step will be analyzed by the MoonEdge team and project reviewers.

The following criteria will be used for this first evaluation:

  • Project potential based on the project type, value proposition, project objectives, business plan and existing community;
  • Technical difficulty and development stage (backend and frontend);
  • Evaluation of the proposed Tokenomics: token model (token type, how will it be used, any governance associated with it, etc.), token distribution, token release schedule;
  • Details about the previous fundraising if applicable.

Step 3: This step only starts after a project has passed the second step. The MoonEdge team and reviewers will then meet the teams.

The due diligence will focus on the following points:

  • The team members and their respective background;
  • Their advisors, if applicable;
  • Planned roadmap;
  • Detailed view of their technical development;
  • Questions about their Whitepaper or Litepaper.

Q2 from Telegram User @Denybela

Do we have to hold Matic tokens to convert them into MoonEdge tokens? or can we buy MoonEdge tokens directly with Eth or some other crypto?

MoonPillar: This hasn’t been decided yet. It will depend on the liquidity and the volatility of the paired asset with the MoonEdge token.

Q3 from Telegram User @Josegamboac

I think the next change in the IDO domain is for new projects to launch directly into Layer 2 solutions. MoonEdge believes Polygon will be that solution, even MoonEdge is the Launchpad of choice for blockchain projects launching on Polygon. But can you explain why you think that polygon is the solution?

MoonPillar: Polygon has all the necessary elements to be the key Ethereum scaling solution leader:

  • -A growing developer community
  • -A production-ready and easy-to-use platform
  • -Already a lot of great projects are migrating from layer 1 (ETH) to Polygon
  • -A high level of decentralization and high security
  • The lowest gas cost and near-instant transactions

Plus, an awesome team that work hard for their ecosystem!

Q4 from Telegram User @ASHCHH_21

How do I get the MoonEdgeToken? What platforms can I currently buy them and what platforms do you plan listing on soon?

MoonPillar: The MoonEdge token isn’t listed soon. We will first host our own IDO on MoonEdge. Then we will list on Quickswap!

Q5 from Telegram User @arboledae

How can the community know that their fundraising platform is completely secure?

MoonPillar: We follow all the best practices like building upon OpenZeppelin smart contracts, testing each feature of smart contracts, testing in the production environment and getting all of our smart contracts audited.

Q6 from Telegram User @Ajpaa

Do you have ambassador program considering its importance to project growth or how can I be your ambassador?

MoonPillar: It is something that we are considering! We will also organize community contests and dev contest to push MoonEdge further (and reward our community at the same time)!

Q7 from Telegram User @K2ice

You said the IDO on MoonEdge will be in two rounds. If I miss the first round, can I participate in the second round?

MoonPillar: Only the ones that participated in the first round would be able to participate in the second round.

Q8 from Telegram User @testercoin

I didn’t see any NFT on your website don’t you like NFT’s why do you think about them?

MoonPillar: Yes, we like the use cases of NFT and are exploring right now the possibilities of launching NFT with one of our partners!

Q9 from Telegram User @messilolz

Do I need to pass kyc to join your Launchpad for a project IDO?

MoonPillar: Yes, it will be necessary.

Q10 from Telegram User @Velora08

I think with all the things that happened. Regarding a project launched with inexperienced team members, and some of which certainly didn’t go well due to a mistake that was easily avoided… Would you be like that, If not. So how do you go about this…?

MoonPillar: We work closely with our advisors and backers to assure the success of MoonEdge. We won’t launch before everything has been 100% testes and is fully ready to deploy. The same strict process will be applied for every project that we host on MoonEdge!

PART 3, QUIZ AND INFO

As usual, for the third part, Satoshi Club Team asked the chat 4 questions about MoonEdge. A link to a Quiz form was sent into the chat. Participants had 10 minutes to answer. 300$ were distributed between the winners.
