Lockdowns, vaccines and the silent Revolution.

Today I got my latest COVID relief payment, it is now half of what it used to be and this mark the beginning of the end of the lockdowns. I met this situation with mixed emotions, at first I didn’t like being paid not to work and stay at home. Of course, after a few months of this existence, I have become slightly used to it, and often we humans tend to resist change. Mentally I know it’s for the best, and that having a job and a better source of income will be much better. But I’d be lying if I didn’t say that it would be nice to keep staying in and doing nothing while getting paid.

This is yet another reason I hate what’s happening in the world… my own incentive structure is being used against me… and it’s making me want to be less productive in the world and just live off the value other people generate. I do not like it, so I am glad this is coming to an end.

Now, this being said… It is not all good news. For here in Australia to go anywhere and do pretty much anything we are requested to show proof of vaccination. I do not have this, and though they announced that the 1st of December they won’t be requiring it any more… This remains to be seen.

Many people have asked me why I haven’t gotten the vaccine as of yet. For me it is quite simple, it has nothing to do with whether they are safe or not, effective or any other thing regarding the vaccine itself. I don’t like being told what to do by an authority figure claiming the right to rule over my life by authority alone.

I don’t think the government should have any say in this, and should have no authority over peoples medical life. The information should be out in the open, we should be having constant respectful debates that take into consideration everyone’s point of view… and at the end, every person should make their own decision.

If a business decides that all the people who go in it need to be vaccinated, that is fine by me. My problem is when these rules come from the government, and now I am quite afraid of not being able to work if I don’t get it. We shall see.

I heard Eric Weinstein say something once that completely change the way I see things, he said: -Tell me your beautiful vision, now add the amount of pain you would need to inflict to bring it into reality… is it still beautiful?-

And this to me summarizes quite well what we are experiencing now. It seems people have one thing in their mind and one alone, to stop the virus. As noble as this might sound, they have absolutely no regard for the negative effects of everything they do to achieve this goal. In short words it seems that when it comes to the virus, the end justifies the means.

Why have we had no national debate about the negative effects of lockdowns? The increase in suicides? Depression? Drug abuse? Violence?

Why aren’t we talking about the fact that small businesses are closing their doors left and right, while the big companies get bigger? And why is the media not challenging a single thing that comes from the government?

It is quite interesting to me…

In the end I do believe it will be for the best, all they are doing is speeding up the process that assures their own destruction. I see a tendency towards decentralization. And the pandemic only accelerated this, as is showing us in real time the dangers of having too much power in a few hands.

Britain voted to leave the EU, in the United States we have the freedom project, which is trying to separate the state of New Hampshire from the union.

El Salvador adopted bitcoin as legal tender, the first ever fully decentralized universal currency… This is only the beginning. The changes are slow and happen very gradually.

We are starting to move in a good direction, but it will take a lot of time and the old world won’t die without a fight.

So I fully expect things to get worse before they get better.

For me, I’ll stand for my values as long as I can and I will participate in the subtle, silent revolution and what I believe is the best way to tell the state to shut up. Taking their precious currency away from their grasp… those dollars that keep evaluating every year and turn them into something else… something that cannot be tempered with.

Millions of people are doing this, and it seems they cannot stop us. Imagine how less powerful the government would be without monopolizing the economic system through violence… to me this is what gives me the most hope, as it appears we are seeing the emergence of a sort of Tirana I haven’t seen before.

History has taught us time and time again the horrors that a centralized force who believes is right, doesn’t heart to the other side or cares much for collateral damage, can do. But now we have a way to take the teeth and the claws from the beast. Without firing a gun, without even raising a fist.

It is happening as we speak, as I write the final words to this… It has begun, and it cannot be stopped.
