Journalists be warned, the EU will soon be able to legally install spyware on your devices

Not that I have faith in Western freedumb journalism and their silence in response to sheer fascism such as this proves why, but still for the very few, the rare exceptions who actually really do bring us the news and investigative reports we need, they'd better get their security in order and keep strict separation between work and private devices that connect to the internet and start using a lot of burner sims and phones.

Because if you are a journalist and suspected of having contacted terrorists for whatever reason, taken a bike that didn't belong to you or even just using Torrents, then the EU can soon "legally" target your devices and retrieve all your communications and contact lists. I'm not exaggerating on the reasons for their spying, it is actually listed as such in their own definition of "criminal investigation."

"European Union has agreed to the “intrusive surveillance” of journalists to identify their sources under new draft legislation exemptions demanded by France. Brussels ambassadors on Wednesday agreed that spyware could be installed on the computer or phone of a journalist working in the EU as part of any criminal investigation ranging from terrorism to music piracy or bicycle theft....The changes were backed by Germany, the Netherlands, Greece and others."

In case you are wondering "what new draft?", the initial one proposed in 2022 exempted journalists form exactly this: European Union lawmakers are aiming to protect journalists from member states targeting them with spyware following a number of high-profile incidents across the bloc.

Remember that part about government spying on honest journalists who bring us the investigative reports we need? I was just about to mention how the political misleaders in Greece were not so long ago caught doing just that with the Israeli spying scandal when a Greek journalist was investigating a bank, but the article was ahead of me: "Thanasis Koukakis, a Greek journalist, had the Predator bugging software installed on his smartphone by the secret services in Greece on national security grounds in the summer of 2021, while he was researching money laundering and corruption at Piraeus Bank."

Yes because journalists investigating high level corruption and money laundering with our taxes is truly a danger to us the people, and must be spied upon and even silenced by all means necessary for our protection right? The EU is a ****** joke and be sure to remember the countries who opposed not spying on journalists and supported puppetboy Macron's exemptions to target them with trumped up allegations because these countries are the problem. And if your country is in the EU and relying on Euro hand outs from Brussels then it should worry you that these countries are the exact same ones who are keeping the EU alive by their annual multi billion Euro contributions. Well, except for Greece of course.??

Oh, and they are so clever and cunning, I mean, how on earth can we ever accuse them of spying now they've changed the name from "spyware" to "intrusive surveillance software"? In an attempt to disguise their controversial nature, the term “spyware” is now referred to in the legislation as “intrusive surveillance software”. Uuhhh yeah, nah, I have to repeat it now, the EU is a ****** joke.
