Have You Thought About Your Share of The Debt?

If you are a US citizen, here is a fun statistic for you to wrap your head around:

In the 1920's the average spend per person in the United States by the federal government was around 200 dollars (that is in todays dollars, adjusted for inflation.) Today, with a 4 trillion dollar budget, that number is about 11,000 dollars per person. Now, if you think you don't get 11,000 worth of value from Uncle Sam, then someone else is getting your share.

One more. The interest payment on our national debt has now reached one trillion dollars a year.  Divide that number by the number of people living in the US (men, women and children) and you get just under three thousand dollars.  That's right, your share of the interest payment is about 285 dollars a month.  Don't even think about the share of a family of four, if you are in one, you might get a little depressed.
