The Dash Convention Europe, a community-organized conference to highlight the ever-growing Dash ecosystem, has been officially announced.
Born spontaneously from community discussions, the Dash Convention was organized with input and support from a wide variety of Dash groups. The event will feature speakers and presentations from the various Dash projects, including Dash Core, Dash Embassy D-A-CH, Dash Thailand, Dash Force, Dash Nigeria, Dash Turkey, and others, as well as from several companies important to the Dash ecosystem. This will be preceded by a coworking day to foster collaboration between different Dash entities, as well as community members and masternode operators.
Jan Heinrich Meyer, CEO & Founder of the Dash Embassy D-A-CH and co-organizer of the Convention, sees this event as a sign of the strength of the decentralized Dash community:
“With the Dash Convention, we hope to provide a platform for the whole global Dash community, and also offer a good introduction for Dash newcomers. However, what I find most exciting about this concept is that everyone in the community can contribute and take part in shaping it. The Dash Convention is an event by the community for the community. I am really excited to see what kinds of partnerships and innovations are forged at the convention.”
The conference will take place on September 28th and 29th near Zurich, Switzerland, located at the Bitcoin Embassy Switzerland, which partnered to help co-organize the event. The final day will take place on the 30th in Munich, Germany.
A celebration of the strength of Dash’s broader community
The successful organization of the Dash Convention represents an opportunity to showcase Dash’s strong global community and ecosystem, which thrives far outside of contributions from its Core team, something that not even all top coins can claim. Because of Dash’s decentralized autonomous organization (DAO), any member of the community can submit a proposal to work for Dash, and pending masternode approval can simply begin official work, with or without the approval of the Core team. This has led to the spontaneous creation of a large and decentralized ecosystem, a fact that Fabio Bossi, Bitalo CEO and co-organizer of the Convention, believes needs further showcasing:

In addition to the main conference, a final day of celebration has been reserved in Munich for Oktoberfest, dubbed Dashtoberfest, according to Bossi:
“We also managed to get a 50-seat reservation for Oktoberfest in Munich, which is almost impossible, and are looking forward to celebrating “Dashtoberfest” with Dash Core Group members, Dash funded organisations, business partners and friends of Dash.”
Dash’s steady journey down hard road to adoption in the bear market
Despite the ongoing bear market that has seen the present price around 6% of its all-time high from late 2017, Dash has continued to make strong growth in key adoption areas. Dash/Nigerian naira trading has been added to peer-to-peer exchange CoinCola, while Dash has been added to Brazilian merchant solution and bill pay service Kamoney, as well as Mexican exchange Cubobit, expanding options in key African and Latin American regions. Parallel to this, the Uphold brokerage service has been added to the iOS Dash wallets following a removal of the withdrawal fee, and Bitnovo has expanded to Portugal, enabling remittances to the previously mentioned key areas, facilitated by Dash Text’s expansion to support easier global sending options for Dash. This comes as Dash has discovered unique and successful applications in Venezuela, as well as making inroads as a popular ecommerce solution.
