In response to the coronavirus, Bitcoin and cryptocurrency payment services provider BitPay has announced a permanent work from home policy.

An internal survey used by the company was used to gather feedback from employees about working remotely.

BitPay recently conducted an internal survey to gather feedback from employees on working remote. The results revealed 85% of employees preferred to work from home and felt they were more productive.

“I am grateful to be able to work from home because I have young children,'' said Daniel Escobar, Director Engineering Solutions. “The new normal lets me be effective at my job while still keeping my family safe.”

The change isn't a disruption for BitPay as they've already been relying on technology and videoconferencing to keep employees engaged. The coronavirus seems to be having little impact on the overall business of BitPay as they have successfully signed up hundreds of new customers including Take-two Interactive, Beliani, and Prager Metis.

“We were closely following the coronavirus and immediately recognized its significance. As a result, the executive team implemented a virtual plan to continue business as usual for the well-being of our employees,” said Stephen Pair, co-founder and CEO of BitPay. “The work from home policy worked out well, so we turned to cyberspace for continued work.”

The company like many others has seen a wide range of changes due to the coronavirus. Unlike traditional banks the company never relied on multiple in-person locations so the change has been an easier adjustment for employees.

“It took a bit of adjusting to working from home because I am an outgoing and social person,” said Andrew Klein, Marketing Director. “I am grateful to have this flexibility and my team is able to collaborate and work together as if we were side-by-side.”

The company currently boasts more than 80 employees across three global offices.
