Bitcoin, (really just crypto in general), is an odd duck...

Back in 2012, before I really knew anything about crypto, and Bitcoin, I was working a full time job in Boise, Idaho. At the time, Albertsons grocery story had a gas station out front, and I was the cashier there.

My friend, who was really into computers, told me about Bitcoin one day just hanging out at his place playing video games. I had no idea what he was talking about, so I just let it go in one ear and out the other.

After a few months, I decided to talk to him about Bitcoin, because I was low on funds, I didnt have any real savings, and i needed a backup. So, he told me about how to get small amounts for free through faucets, and so I started doing that.

Back then, faucets were giving out much larger amounts of Bitcoin than today, so after about 3 months, I had almost a full Bitcoin or .875 BTC. Then it was wroth only around $95 per coin.

I made a mistake and sent .6 to a place that promised to give me something like 28% daily interest. But I really was new, and l just handed it over to a scam. That left me with .3 and a little extra, and I fell into a depression because I was going to be let go from my job, and I was going to lose my apartment. So I got into drugs, and became homeless, and left the whole Bitcoin scene...

After a few years of feeling sorry for myself, I decided to get my act together and find work, and get back into the whole LIFE thing. I left my old friends, and rediscovered the crypto scene. There was now several other coins that promised to be THE NEXT BITCOIN! So I got a laptop, got a wallet, and started doing the faucets again.

So...fast forward to just 3 months ago, where I went to sell Bitcoin and traded for cash at a Bitcoin ATM. close to $1,200 USD. That was the first time EVER I was able to trade crypto to cash.

I told you this story to say that Crypto is an ODD DUCK because for one, there is no central government regulating it. Some cryptos are regulated by a central government, but not all of them.

You are responsible for your wallet, and your passphrases, and keys, and crypto. You must take responsibility for your wealth, and your future. You are your own bank, and you MUST make choices to secure what you have, or someone may take it from you.

When you have the power to decide what happens with your life, you weaken the system that keeps you a slave. They become obsolete. We need to remember that this ODD DUCK is what keeps us free, and keeps the elites on their toes.

Crypto is a neat thing and it is a scary thing, and it is volatile, and scarce, and decentralized, and just plain ODD.

But, regardless, I would rather have Bitcoin than USD in my pocket. The USD isnt MINE, its theirs. They make it, and they loan it out TO us for a fee.

Crypto IS an ODD DUCK, but it is more closer to freedom than anything we see today...
