Binance to Wind Down Derivatives in Europe While Malaysia Issues Reprimand

Cryptocurrency exchange BINANCE is to wind down futures and derivatives products across Europe, starting with Germany, Italy and the Netherlands.

  • Users in these countries will be unable to open new positions on Binance's platform with immediate effect, the company said Friday.
  • Users with existing positions will have to close them by an as-yet determined date.
  • Malaysia's securities commission, meantime, issued a public reprimand against the company and ordered it to disable the website and mobile apps in the country.
