It is true. DRIP can make you a millionaire.
There is another strategy for DRIP that can help you in the short term though with a few less zeros in the end goal.
Times are strange now. We live in unprecedented times. You may not be able to work right now. Where you live you may be coming out of lockdown or going back in. Maybe you have dreams of making enough to never work again, but in reality you don’t have that time. Maybe you have to cash out your investment of $250 in the next 6 months, 9 months, or even 1 year.
What can you do with such a short term investment? Well let’s run some numbers and see what DRIP can do for you with daily hydration (compounding).
Quick DRIP review:
You get 1% of your initial investment back daily up to 365%. When you compound (usually involves $1 of BNB each day for gas fees,) that goes back into the contract that can equal over 3600% return on investment over the course of a year.
For the sake of easy math, let’s assume every month has 30 days in it. Here is what 6 months or 180 days of daily compounding looks like:

You end up with a value of $1,498.95. Congratulations, you are a Thousandaire!
Subtracting the $250 initial investment and the approximately $180 in gas fees, you are left with $1,068.95 in profit.
Let’s keep everything the same except changing the term to 9 months or approximately 270 days.
You end up with a value of $3,670.38.
Congratulations, you are still a thousandaire! Subtracting the $250 initial investment and the gas fees of $270, you are left with $3,150.38. Compounding just 90 more days nearly triples your return. It seems compound interest is your friend here!
Next, let’s move onto our final example and keep everything the same except the term. What happens when you compound for 365 days, or 1 year on a $250 initial investment?
You end with a $9,445.86 value, which leaves us in the thousandaire category still, but for only a year invested that is amazing! Subtracting the $365 of gas fees and $250 initial investment, your final total is $8,830.86.
You can do a lot with that.
Compound interest continues to be really good to you. The investment grows even more the longer you let it go as I showed in another article, but that’s not the purpose of this article.
DRIP can be good to you in the short-term. Life happens, and unexpected bills come out of nowhere. Your water heater breaks or you get your transmission going out in your car are examples of those unexpected bills. You can use your DRIP gains to pay for those really big bills that come out of nowhere, or you can finally get that small nest egg for your savings that you have always wanted.
The options are endless!
Let’s be optimistic though. DRIP can be a short-term investment, but let’s hope you are fortunate enough to never have to use those gains and can just let them compound for years to come!
NOTE: Just be aware when you get into DRIP that it has taxes. They are what helps it stay sustainable. There is a 10% deposit tax, 10% withdraw tax, and 10% sell tax.
