According to a survey conducted by Bitget, one of the world's leading cryptocurrency buying and selling services, during the first week of October 2023, 96% of Argentine users consider that this digital means of exchange is a good alternative to conserve savings and avoid capital losses in the face of inflation, which – known at 8.3% in October – exceeds 140% annualized. In general, the work carried out on our region and our country in particular, shows that around five million Argentines are holders of some crypto investment and that reflects the growth of the country in recent months, leading the regional ranking with a 17% increase in users of virtual currencies against the 14% growth of Colombia and Brazil and 9% in Mexico.
Investing in cryptocurrencies becomes a very simple tool for a lot of people that generates a lot of access to be able to buy a type of dollar or currencies that have parity with the dollar and that can protect the capital saved, maintaining people's purchasing power.
According to the study cited above, 41.5% of Argentines surveyed highlighted the attractive growth potential offered by digital currencies as the preponderant factor behind their decision. While another 36% highlighted that protection against inflation, pointed out by the TruBit executive, as motivation to enter the cryptocurrency market. At the other end of the survey, only 6% highlighted the ease of access to new ways of capitalizing.
Eight out of every 100 Argentines use cryptocurrencies, 18.5% want to have them and 83% know that this type of currency exists. This is according to the consulting firm Chainalysis, which specializes in the analysis of information arising from different blockchains. In short, the crisis caused by high inflation and a currency that is constantly devalued are the incentive to adopt cryptographic assets as a store of value and to evade unlimited fiscal voracity, the fault of the most corrupt government in Argentine history
