Users will be able to check the price of cryptocurrencies based on data provided by CoinMarketCap using Yahoo Finance’s website. Data includes price, market valuation, trading volumes, supply and more.

Yahoo Finance Adds CoinMarketCap Data To Its Website

According to a recent press release shared by the companies, Yahoo Finance will now be providing information about 118 cryptocurrencies in the market.

Some of the cryptocurrencies available include Bitcoin (BTC), Ethereum (ETH), XRP, Litecoin (LTC) and Tether (USDT), among others.

The company will not only offering the list of cryptocurrencies available but they will also show a heatmap with the price performance of specific currencies and their market capitalization.

CoinMarketCap is a recognized site in the cryptocurrency market that has been working during the last few years in order to improve the data provided about virtual currencies.

Used by traders, enthusiasts and experts, the site gathers data from over 200 cryptocurrency exchanges around the world. It also adds cryptocurrencies that account for more than 90% of the total cryptocurrency market capitalization.

Currently, there are over 4,800 digital assets listed and the number could continue growing in the future.

A few days ago, CoinMarketCap rolled out a new metric called ‘Liquidity,’ that aims at fighting fake trading volumes in the market. This would provide much accurate information about exchanges and how they handle cryptocurrency volumes.

CoinMarketCap will also be providing educational information to improve crypto markets’ adoption on the Yahoo Finance platform. Moreover, CoinMarketCap daily newsletter will also be integrated into Yahoo’s crypto screener page.

In the future, Yahoo Finance is expected to also add cryptocurrency indices provided by CoinMarketCap. These indices include the Crypto 200 and the Crypto 200 EX.

On the matter, Joanna Lambert, General Manager of Finance, Tech, Autos and membership at Verizon Media, commented:

“By partnering with CoinMarketCap, a trusted global cryptocurrency data provider, we can provide timely and reliable crypto information to meet our audience demand.”

Although Yahoo Finance doesn’t focus on cryptocurrencies, they are starting to cover different cryptocurrency-related events and news considering the market has been expanding during the last years.

Back in August 2018, Yahoo Finance decided to integrate Bitcoin, Ether and Litecoin on its platform and offer users the possibility to have information about their price performance, market capitalization and more.

Nonetheless, they now preferred to integrate with CoinMarketCap rather than providing their own services.
