Honeygain is an app that you can install on your computer (Windows and MacOS) or Android phone and it uses your internet data to run various queries for their clients. The company lets other businesses use their network to gather data and market research. Honeygain rewards users in money.
HoneyGain’s reddit has multiple users claiming to have seen their internet routers being used to share Trojans through honeygain, people on their reddit also used special programs to check who’s using their internet along with what websites they’re being connected to.
Some users reported seeing muiltiple connections to adult websites and 3rd party services.
Honeygain most likely uses your internet for illegal searching and probably gives it out to users around the globe for whatever reasons which obviously aren’t disclosed to the honeygain user.
I’ve also investigated these claims myself and also asked for some proof from the people that reported seeing the above^.
