The crypto world is just a small baby, if you think about it. The human race had existed for hundreds of thousands of years during which time it forged history so long and detailed – which makes it impossible to publish it all in a single book. Bitcoin, Ethereum and Idena are part of a much younger “crypto” era, an era so fragile and chaotic that it sort of reminds me of a tiny crying baby. It seems to me that a bottle of warm Idena is all that baby needs to stop crying, and I will tell you why.
When it first appeared more than ten years ago, Bitcoin introduced the new industry standard - and other cryptocurrencies blindly followed the same model. If you want coins, you have to mine. That is called “Proof-of-Work” and it was the only way to do it. You have to buy expensive hardware, build a “rig” and run a piece of mining software on it – hoping it will not crash while you’re asleep. People with hundreds of rigs got even richer, and ones with two or three rigs got, well you’ve guessed it - not so much. It is unfair, right? Idena solves this, by the way. It is literally impossible for 1 man to control more than let’s say – 3 nodes. Idena settled this by limiting the time needed to solve “flips”, the fun thing we have that helps us distinguish real humans from bots. This is called “Proof-of-Person” and it successfully fights bots that were made by someone hoping to cheat the fair system we are building here. Flips are basically series of pictures that you need to solve by finding the most logical sequence. It’s that easy. You can even try it at Idena Flip Challenge. It’s a game and you’ll absolutely love it!
When I first discovered Idena, I was a bit skeptical, I’ll admit that. Distributing coins to people for keeping a node online as a reward for making and solving “flips” once in a while? It was so strange to me at first, because I got used to the idea of having to invest money in expensive hardware to be able to mine a coin - so I decided to give it a shot. I installed the wallet, got the invitation through Telegram channel, and after my first successful validation – everything changed. I was part of the growing network now. I was actually a real HUMAN node on the network. As you may imagine, it felt marvelous. I remember reading the whitepaper over and over, and I was simply astonished by Idena’s geniality. The idea is to implement cool concepts such as “sharding”, smart contracts, private transactions and the coolest of them all – "a cryptoidentity Sign-In". It has a potential to retire the old Google “Captcha” system because it is far more AI-proof.
