Holding the asset may not give that high of returns which is why I recommend buying and selling the crypto because the asset is changing value all the time. Wait until its higher than what you got it for and then sell and then when it drops which could be minutes or hours later buy it again and then you now have more crypto to trade at the higher value.
Yes bitcoin is a risky place to put your money because you can lose a lot of money but if you stick to a day to day trading plan you can make a profit pretty easily. Even if you only did 1 or 2 trades a day you could still make 30-70$ by just simply buying and selling.

You just need to watch the market which you can watch anywhere just like stocks its available online to easily view. And when you see it go up you sell and when it goes down you buy back in.
