Polkadot has recently begun to show what many believe to be its true potential, growing by over 70% in just a few days.
Why has this project attracted so much attention to itself?
Let's start by saying that it comes from one of the greatest exponents of the crypto world or Gavin Wood, co-founder of ethereum and creator of the solidity language. But it's not only this that makes polkadot such an interesting project, what makes it so appealing is its ability to satisfy an essential problem: the interoperability between blockchains.
It's called the trilemma in the crypto world, that is the possibility to choose only 2 features between scalability, security and decentralization.
Through polkadot this is overcome because on a single network it is possible to run other blockchains, allocating each blockchain to a specific task.
The blockchain so connected can then communicate with each other and so can take advantage of the network effect.
What makes polkadot so effective is its ability to exploit a fundamental problem and make this a strength.
If polkadot succeeds in its intent we are potentially dealing with a project of even greater scope than bitcoin, it would create a whole new infrastructure on which the future world will run completely. I believe that we are just at the beginning of the project's potential, we will begin to understand where polkadot will go when the first auctions for parachains begin.
