What to mine after Eth 2.0?

I have been pondering what to mine after Eth 2.0 is adopted. The block rewards are definitely decaying and will soon be to the point where it is more profitable to mine a different Altcoin. I have been experimenting with Ravencoin, Monero, and Ethereum Classic.

  • RVN seems to be the most power-hungry of the bunch and has the lowest return and had the lowest ROI. In fact, it was hard to break even unless you have nearly free power.
  • Monero was in the same class as RVN
  • ETC will probably be my go-to coin once ETH is eclipsed. The coin has steadily been gaining ground.

   6/21 ETC

As of this writing, ETC is within $80/mo USD per 100 MH/sec of hash rate. As the block reward reduces, more and more miners will be switching over. Additionally, as we switch @ethereum had better be careful of the sustainability of their blockchain. It is their policy that angered almost every miner and mining pool that keeps their creation afloat and viable. I don't know who thought up the bright idea that burning tips in front of the people that are doing the work, but they ought to be publicly flogged.

The miners keep the #eth world running. We invested in your blockchain and kept it afloat for years. You deserve to sweat it out now that you burned us.
