For nearly three years I have been creating almost exclusively for Splinterlands as their Content Director, but there are so many other crypto projects out there that I love, and let's face it, they need to be talked about more often. Since I have found PUBLISH0X to be an excellent writing platform for rewards, engagement and usability, what better place to kick this off than right here on Publish0x?
About Me
I'm a dreamer. I'm often positive to a fault, so please do not take my enthusiastic support for any of these projects as investment advice. Everyone should always do their own research and make their own decisions, especially when money is involved. In crypto and blockchain, it's tough to find a project in which money is not involved. That being said, there are tons of things you can spend your money on that are much more wasteful than any of the companies I'm about to mention.
I'm a collector. Non-fungible tokens have reawakened something in me that was lost since my childhood, something I thought I would never find again. They have tugged at the heartstrings of a wide-eyed little kid who used to admire trading cards, video games, posters, pogs, and pretty much anything shiny. Now I can put the power of my adult knowledge to use, merging collecting and investing in this incredible and rapidly rising industry.
I'm an idea man. I love to always think of possibilities. When I try to judge the value of something, I am almost always judging its potential for the future, rather than where it currently sits in the world.

I love to tell stories. In fact, realizing that everything is stories, I allow them to teach me secrets. People can be unpredictable and often unreliable, but stories never lie, and they always repeat themselves.
I love to create. I write stories, articles, songs and poems. Sometimes I draw maps, other times I paint rocks. If the mood strikes me I'll spend some time sewing, or perhaps designing a strategy board game. Creating has always offered me validation, confidence, and a feeling of value. The last few years for Splinterlands have been the most creatively productive years of my life. But enough about me.
These are some of my favorite crypto and NFT projects! I highly recommend learning about them, considering investing time and energy, or at the very least, watch them as they blossom into wildly successful companies in the coming months and years.
Splinterlands
It seems fitting to start with the OG, Splinterlands. Not only do I work hard as a member of the SPLINTERLANDS team, but it was the project that renewed my passion for both video games and collecting.
I'm continually blown away by Splinterlands' always-challenging gameplay and how easy it is to earn rewards for playing. What started in a small Discord chat room years ago is now one of the largest influences in my life, and it deserves credit for allowing me to take the leap into the world of professional writing.
Splinterlands is a digital trading card game with a unique and quick style. Players quickly build teams from their collections in a manner that is very similar to fantasy sports. Then the teams go head-to-head in vicious, algorithmic battle. If you have ever played Magic: The Gathering, I can almost guarantee that you'll love Splinterlands. Give it a try!
KOGs
Keys to Other Games - Released in just August of this year, this product of RFOX Games had me at the acronym. They have had a meteoric rise over the last few months to become the highest volume traded collectible on the WAX blockchain, an honor that has been very well deserved.
The 1st Edition Collector's set of KOGs has nearly 10x'd in value since the original sale of Starter and Booster Packs, and the Red Fox team is now preparing for the release of their highly anticipated 2nd Edition on December 22nd, 2020. They will then release the first playable version of the Slammer Game around the end of the year.

Gala Games
Gala Games has blown recently onto the play-to-earn scene with an incredible game and an even more incredible team. The most inspiring story about Gala is how they began not as an indy startup against the odds, but as a powerhouse team of veteran mainstream game designers deciding to flip the script on corporate ownership of game assets.
Gala is giving power back to the players, and they're doing it right. Their first offering is called Townstar, created by some of the same folks that brought the world Farmville, Zynga and Words with Friends. Townstar is a brilliantly designed game of town building and organization, with compelling and relaxing game play.
Gala's next game, Mirandus, is currently in the land presale stage, with deeds being sold for everything from Grain Stands to Castle Citadels. The game will be a play to earn MMORPG, to be beta released in 2021. Deeds and buildings can currently be purchased for discounted prices.
In Townstar's weekly competition, players can earn huge piles of ETH (real money), and the best part is that you can play for free. Townstar is a game that was designed to be enjoyed by millions of players, and it does not disappoint. Don't worry though. You're still early.
Blockchain Heroes
Founded by crypto influencers Joel Comm and Travis Wright (Bad Crypto Podcast and the Nifty Show), this collectible set of trading cards is available exclusively on the WAX blockchain, one of my favorite places to transact. These guys blew everyone away with their first release, and ever since, they have been adding layer after layer of fun, utility and value to their collectibles. I even sold a Blockchain Heroes card pulled from a $25 Titan Pack for $1200! Talk about a win!
