Voyager (CSE:VYGR), a crypto brokerage firm that provides retail and institutional investors with trading solutions, announced Tuesday that it will begin offering 3% interest on Bitcoin (BTC) held on its app starting on November 1.
According to the announcement, investors who hold a monthly balance of at least 0.01 BTC (~$74.38) on the Voyager app will be eligible to receive 3% per annum interest, with interest paid monthly in Bitcoin.
“This is an incredibly unique offering,” said Stephen Ehrlich, CEO and co-founder of Voyager Digital. “Traditional exchanges do not offer interest on Bitcoin and we are especially excited to offer it on our platform. It has been the most requested feature from our users and community.”
This news comes just weeks after Voyager announced that it will offer 5% interest on Ethos (ETHOS) held on its app in anticipation of the token rebrand. Investors must buy or deposit tokens by November 1 and hold a minimum of $100 worth of ETHOS in the Voyager app to be eligible for the promotion, which runs through the end of January 2020.
“We strive to create the best platform for our users and listen when they recommend ways for us to improve Voyager,” added Ehrlich. “With this program, our customers can actively trade and passively earn Bitcoin at the same time as long as they maintain the minimum daily average.”
