In this brief guide, we will cover LBRY claims, how they are used to publish content, delete content, claim tips, support posts, create channels, and all of the fundamentals of how claims operate with the LBRY blockchain.
The main thing to understand is that claims act as the foundation for most of the things you do. A claim is sort of like how you’re interacting with the LBRY blockchain. So when you get a tip, publish a video, create a channel, make a support, etc., they are all in the form of a “claim.”
A claim always requires a small amount of LBC, so if you publish a video you might deposit 0.005, but 10 is the recommended amount by LBRY. Some of this is explained here: https://lbry.com/faq/tipping
So then to delete them and regain the LBC you deposited or that someone else gave you in the form of a tip, you’ll “revoke” or “abandon” the claim. You’ll be able to do this by navigating to your wallet in the top right of the platform and then when you’re in there you can filter through your content to either claim tips, delete reposts or regular posts, terminate a channel, or revoke a support. You will always get a confirmation prompt before you confirm any revokes.
