Double spending problem refers to multiple spending of BTC/other cryptocurrency from same amount of BTC. For understanding the double spending problem, Let's consider an example: A user has 1 BTC, in double spending, user can use 1 BTC to purchase object A. Similarly, User can again use same 1 BTC to purchase the object B.

Can Double Spending Problem Occur in Bitcoin? 

Yes, It is possible for Double Spending Problem to occur in Bitcoin. Double spending problem occurs when there is 51% attack. 51% attack occurs when particular node controls the 51% of total hash/mining power of entire bitcoin network. When it occurs, the attacker can change the transaction in the block allowing user to double spend the BTC.
