Twitter will sponsor NASCAR driver Bubba Wallace and his team, as revealed by a tweet posted by CEO and founder Jack Dorsey. He tweeted an image with both the Bitcoin (BTC) logo and the Cash App on a NASCAR car. Cash App is a product of Square, of which Dorsey is the CEO and co-founder.

The Bitcoin and Square logo will also be printed on Wallace’s racesuit, with both logos being prominently displayed.

Bubba Wallace is the only African American driver in the NASCAR racing series, coming to the spotlight in recent months for his call to ban the confederate flag from NASCAR races and an investigation into a hate crime that was considered by many to have targeted him.

Social media reception of the sponsorship has been largely positive - appreciative of the exposure Bitcoin is getting, though the cryptocurrency community isn’t entirely sold on the choice of colour.

Dorsey has praised Bitcoin before, saying that “no one person could stop it.” He also called it one of the most seminal works of computer science in the past few decades. Twitter also features an emoji for Bitcoin, with the only other asset that has received an emoji being Crypto.com’s CRO (for which allegedly $1 million was paid).
