TRTL(Turtle coin) - what type of hardware is worth using?

Do repost and rate:

Following an article, I posted this morning about how and why to mine TRTL I want to expand a little bit on the topic of what kind of hardware should be used to mine it. I want to point out that this is not the list of most profitable hardware by far - it is just a list of hardware that would be best put to work doing this, instead of mining Eth, Raven, Nicehash, etc. The newest video cards from AMD and Nvidia will be most profitable, however, they are better off mining other algos.

AMD video cards worth using with TRTL:

RX 460 2GB

RX 550 2GB

RX 560 2GB

Radeon R7 240/340 2GB

Radeon R7 250/360 2GB

Radeon R7 260/360 2GB

Radeon R9 M390 2GB

Radeon R9 M370X 2GB

Radeon R7 M360 2GB

Radeon R7 M460 2GB

I am aware that there are more powerful models from R7, R9 generation however they are eighter 4-8 GB and can mine something else or just consume too much power for the hashes they will provide, which will make them non-profitable for mining TRTL.

Nvidia video cards worth using with TRTL:

GTX 1050 2GB

GTX 950 2GB

GTX 960 2GB

GTX 750TI 2GB

GTX 750 2GB

GeForce 940MX 2GB

GeForce 940M 2GB

GeForce 930M 2GB

GeForce GTX 950M 2GB

GeForce GTX 960M 2GB

GeForce MX110 2GB

GeForce MX130 2GB

GeForce MX150 2GB

GeForce GTX 1650 2GB

GeForce MX230 2GB

GeForce MX250 2GB

GeForce MX330 2GB

GeForce MX350 2GB

GeForce MX450 2GB

That pretty much covers the list of dedicated GPUs that is worth testing to mine TRTL. There is another group of VGAs that can be used that is a little unorthodox. Those are the Integrated Vega cards in Ryzen processors. For desktop, those will be the CPU's that end with G. And for Laptop pretty much every CPU has integrated Vega card. Those cards can be used for mining TRTL separately from the CPU they are integrated with. This means that if you have a Ryzen 3 3200G, you can once mine on the CPU itself and 2nd of the Integrated Radeon Vega 8 as two separate entities.

As for what CPUs should be used for mining - I'd say only this - AMD Ryzen outperforms Intel's Core I's by a lot. But both can make some money mining.

Types of CPUs you should look for:

  • Any AMD Ryzen with or without Integrated Vega.
  • Any AMD Threadripper
  • Any AMD Epyc
  • Any Intel Core I3, I5, I7, or I9 4th Gen or latter(the newest is 11th Gen).
  • Any Xeon manufactured after 2013

What stats are important for mining for TRTL:

  • for CPU: More cores.
  • for CPU: more cache memory
  • for CPU: higher Clock(overclocking can improve your mining results).
  • for VGA: higher Clock of Memory and Core frequency. Overclocking again would improve your results.
  • for both CPU/VGA: Undervolting would reduce your electricity consumption and improve your profit.
  • for AMD Video cards: switching the AMD driver into "Compute" mode will improve your mining speed.
  • for both AMD and Nvidia cards is recommended the usage of the latest version of drivers.
  • for Integrated AMD Vega cards higher speed of the RAM, you are using. This is Ryzen specific - because the Vega uses the RAM of the PC as its own and will benefit from higher clock speed. For example, you will have better results with ming speed if you use 3200 Mhz DDR4 RAM, instead of 2400 Mhz DDR4.

Important note regarding any type of mining:

You should always keep an eye on the system temperatures - especially on CPU and GPU. Any values over 65 or 70 degrees Celsius are NOT healthy for your hardware and can cause a system failure. If your machine, Laptop, or Desktop cannot be cooled properly due to various reasons - bad build, not enough airflow - Please Stop mining and check if you can improve the cooling by cleaning from dust, adding additional fans, opening the chassis while mining, etc.

Also, keep in mind that while mining your machine's resources will be in use and not available for daily usage. You can mine and use the computer for very light tasks at the same time, but anything that is even a little bit demanding will be a bad idea and you will need first to stop the miner before continuing.

There are several software that you should use while mining.

MSI Afterburner For overclocking, monitoring(temperature) and undervolting your VGAs. It's compatible with both Nvidia and AMD.

Ryzen controler For overclocking, monitoring(temperature) and undervolting your Ryzen.

DDU To remove old drivers before installing a new version.

Intel® Extreme Tuning Utility (Intel® XTU) Overclocking and monitoring unlocked Intel CPUs.

Nvidia latest drivers and

AMD latest drivers Keep your drivers updated.

That is it from me at this time. Let me know if you guys have any questions.
