I have been using BRAVE browser for both mobile and desktop for a few months now, and I want to highlight one of the awesome features of the browser. No, not the ability to earn BAT by taking control over how many ads you see, but the other half of Brave, the privacy and ad-blocking side of things.
I downloaded the browser for mobile about 5 months ago and the browser for desktop a little over 2 months ago, and I am always amazed by the stats for the number of trackers blocked, data saved, and time better spent.
Now I am sure that many of you have more impressive stats (please share them in the comments below!), but I am VERY happy seeing those numbers.
To put those 3 numbers in context:
53,554 trackers and ads blocked = If every one of those trackers and ads were a member of a new species of bat (the animal, not the crypto), they would be the fourth most plentiful species of bat on the planet (Source: Wikipedia). That might be a very sad stat considering so many are declining :(
2.22 GB Bandwidth saved = More than my high speed data allowance for my data plan. If this would have been on my mobile network, I would have already been downgraded to 1985 quality/speed internet.
45 minutes = The equivalent of 3 times my attention span or almost an entire episode of a longer format TV show.
And all of this is nothing compared to my mobile stats! When you start to pay attention to how many cookies and such are being blocked on each site, it is truly staggering. I believe it helps highlight the great success of the project and I am excited to see what new features they are rolling out soon (perhaps other wallets to withdraw to?).
