Hello and welcome to another article.
In my last two analyses, I hinted towards this post stating that I have slowly begin dropping my belief in BAT.
So far it has disappointed me in unimaginable ways, pumping 5% and proceeding to dump 10% again.
But not just the token. In my article where I called out the BRAVE paradox, I pointed out the obvious downfalls of Brave and it's rewards program.
In this article, let's talk about this replacement.
The name: Decentr (DEC)
DEC is what Brave was supposed to be. A truly decentralised rewards program based service that protects your data and pays you money directly to your wallet.
DEC takes the good parts of Brave: The slick browser, ad blocking and rewards program, and makes them less horrendous.
For starters, the browser is 100% more slick than Brave's.
The browser also protects your data, which you can monetize yourself. That's right, no middle man is involved.
Your data is protected, and if you wish to sell it to advertisers, YOU set the price and you come to an agreement with the advertiser.
The advertiser then pays you through an escrow system created by Decentr (this prevents fraud or advertiser's taking your data without payment). You confirm receipt and your data is transferred to the recepient. You can then send your DEC tokens to your private wallet (not through that terrible centralised Uphold wallet) and spend them however you like.
This is a much better model, simply because:
- The user is actually in control of how much data he/she wants to sell.
- The user gets to put the price on their data. Stuff like Brave pre determines the price of the ads for you.
- Anyone anywhere can use it: Brave rewards isn't available everywhere in the world, simply because uphold isn't available everywhere in the world. Trash bottlenecks like this shouldn't occur in a truly decentralised system.
- There is no centralised middle man to receive your tokens.
- There is the presence of a non centralised , open source token.
DEC is set to replace BAT very soon, once the complete fundamentals are in place.
There's also better tokenomics. For starters, the number of tokens is greatly less than BAT, making it easier for the price to go higher than that of BAT.
Equally, DEC is completely centralised and open source. There's no founder or team controlling all the tokens.
There's a lot to talk about DEC, but this is simply am introduction to what it's about.
