Today's walk didn't feel like a winter stroll. There is no trace of the last snowfall, which fell approximately 20 cm per day. That's why I entered the forest in search of arboreal mushrooms.
Dzisiejszy spacer nie przypominal zimowej przechadzki. Po ostatnich opadach sniegu, ktorego w ciagu doby napadalo okolo 20 cm nie ma juz sladu. Dlatego wkroczylem do lasu w poszukiwaniu grzybow nadrzewnych.
I didn't have to walk for long, because after just a dozen or so minutes I came across an old poplar tree. It looked dead, but this was only an appearance, because there were young shoots and shoots visible on it, which will probably turn green in spring.
Dlugo nie musialem spacerowac, bo doslownie po kilkunastu minutach trafilem na stara topole. Wygladala na martwa, ale to tylko pozory, bo widoczne byly na niej mlode odrosty i pedy, ktore wiosna zapewne zazielenieja.
At the base of this tree I found quite a large group of mushrooms. At first I wasn't sure if it was an oyster mushroom, but after a while I had no doubts. This is an oyster mushroom.
U podstawy tego drzewa namierzylem dosc spora grupke grzybow. Na poczatku nie bylem pewien czy to boczniak, ale po chwili nie mialem watpliwosci. To jest boczniak ostrygowaty.
Unfortunately, it grows in a public park where there are a lot of dog walkers. Additionally, it is close to the ground, so it is not suitable for the kitchen, but as an object for photos - absolutely.
Niestety rosnie w publicznym parku, gdzie sporo jest spacerowiczow z psami. Dodatkowo blisko ziemi, wiec nie nadaje sie do kuchni, ale jako obiekt do zdjec - jak najbardziej.
The fruit bodies are already quite grown, so they could be quite difficult to eat on a plate. They are probably chewy and difficult to chew, but the sight is beautiful, soothing and hopeful.
Owocniki sa juz dosc wyrosniete, dlatego na talerzu moglyby sprawiac spora trudnosc. Prawdopodobnie sa lykowate, trudne do pogryzienia, ale za to widok przepiekny, kojacy i dajacy nadzieje.
If anyone has any doubts, it is a very tasty edible mushroom with health properties. You can also buy it in supermarkets in a farmed version, but in my opinion, the farmed oyster mushroom was not even next to a real oyster mushroom straight from the forest.
Jesli ktos ma watpliwosci, to jest to bardzo smaczny grzyb jadalny, o wlasciwosciach zdrowotnych. Mozna go kupic rowniez w marketach w wersji hodowlanej, ale wedlug mnie, to boczniak hodowlany nawet nie stal obok prawdziwego boczniaka prosto z lasu.
And if you are not sure whether it is an edible mushroom, I guarantee that all arboreal mushrooms growing in Europe are edible and tasty, and those that are not will certainly not kill you.
A jesli nie macie pewnosci, czy to jest grzyb jadalny, to zareczam, ze wszystkie grzyby nadrzewne rosnace w Europie sa jadalne i smaczne, a te ktore nie sa na pewno was nie zabija.
You can make many nutritious dishes from oyster. I will not repeat myself, so I refer you to my previous entries about this wonderful mushroom.
Z bocznika mozna zrobic wiele wartosciowych potraw. Nie bede sie powtarzal, wiec odsylam do moim wczesniejszych wpisow na temat tego wspanialego grzyba.
