Comparative data provided by the Glassnode platform has indicated the increase in the number of Bitcoin addresses in several aspects.

Currently, there are just over 700 million existing Bitcoin addresses, a number that has been growing steadily since mid-2014.

Glassnode is a blockchain data and intelligence provider platform that generates innovative metrics and tools for stakeholders in digital assets.

Through it we were also able to survey the number of unique addresses that appeared for the first time in a transaction of the native currency on the network.

Exceeding 500,000 Bitcoin wallets, this expressive number in a way represents the second historic top of addresses created, behind only the bull run period that occurred in late 2017, early 2018.

Another data that shows an increasing evolution of portfolios is the survey of the number of addresses that have 1 or more Bitcoins.

Currently, there are approximately 820,000 wallets that have more than 100 million Satoshis, which constitutes 1 Bitcoin altogether.

Finally, we also found that the total amount of funds held in Bitcoin hold addresses has increased.

Accumulation addresses are defined as addresses that have never spent funds or traded Bitcoin.

The addresses present in exchanges and the addresses of miners are discarded in this metric. In turn, to account for lost coins, addresses that were last active for more than 7 years are also omitted.

What we can see in this analysis is that until 2017 investors were accumulating Bitcoins, and dumped coins after the historic high of the end of that year.

After stabilizing the decline and going through a latency period that lasted until the beginning of 2019, investors and cryptocurrency enthusiasts have again accumulated Bitcoins, and the number of untouched portfolios within the 1-year period has grown since then.
