Hello everyone! Today i want to start my article with these two sentences, that Elon posted a week ago. When i saw this the first time, i was really excited about this, as I'm a really big fan of the work of his company SpaceX. But what's this whole city stuff about and what has it to do with crypto?
Location:
As the post already indicates, the city will be located in Texas. To be more precise, in the area of Boca Chica Village, near the border to Mexico. That's also where SpaceX's new flagship rocket - the Starship - is being built and tested.
Why building an entire city?
Well, that's a difficult question, because we cannot see what's going on inside Elon's head. It could have to do with Elon already living in Texas, as he moved there last year because of California's Covid-19 regulations. The main reason I think is that SpaceX has, as i already mentioned, a launch site just around the corner and possibly wants to provide housing to all the workers and engineers.
As Elon loves reading books, I can imagine he read "Perry Rhodan" as a child, because to me, this whole city thing bears resemblance with the founding of Galakto-City, the first big city from which mankind has started to reach for the stars. He may took it as an inspiration. I may be completely off with my thoughts, though.
What has Crypto to do with it?
To answer this question, i will first provide you with another screenshot from twitter:
As we already know, Elon likes to meme a lot. In this case he refers to the "Doge", which was the title of a lord in italian city-states in the middle ages and the renaissance era. For more info on this topic you can click here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Doge. Anyway, back to crypto: As all of you possibly know, DOGE is the coin, that is possibly destined for bigger things as being just a meme coin, as Elon is constantly posting about it. So is this a sign that we should start buying more DOGE to get access to Starbase? That, unfortunately, is a question, that I cannot answer right now.
My personal thoughts about this project:
For me, this whole Starbase thing is a real inspiration. Imagine living there one day, watching the rockets lift off to Mars with new colonists on board. It sounds like a childhood sci-fi dream to me.
I need to emphasize, that the whole project is like at the beginning of the beginning, so don't just assume, that all of this will happen in no time. It has a long way to go, still.
