Tether blocked another $1.58 million in USDT on the Ethereum blockchain

The number of blacklisted addresses with USDT on the ERC-20 Protocol has reached forty, according to the Dune Analytics service. On July 10, the Issuer of stablecoin froze the wallet with assets for $1.58 million.

Dune Analytics was launched by Ethereum researcher Philip Castongway. Since the beginning of 2020, the service has recorded the addition of Tether to the blacklist of twenty-one Ethereum addresses with millions of dollars ' worth of coins.

Their owners cannot send, receive, or repay USDT. Tokens cannot be used.

The largest amount frozen by Tether this year is 4.57 million USDT. For the first time, the company blacklisted an Ethereum address in November 2017, it stores 909.5 USDT.

The head of the legal Department of the Bitfinex exchange, affiliated with Tether, Stuart Hogner, previously explained that the blockages are due to cooperation with law enforcement agencies.

According to Dune Analytics, on June 16, the stablecoin Issuer USDC consortium Centre blacklisted an Ethereum address with $100,000 in cryptocurrency for the first time. The center clarified that this happened at the request of law enforcement agencies.
