I am a long term investor by nature, my wife on the other hand takes care of short term finances. So when I got into the market last year for the first time I was looking to hold (hodl) for the long term. I started to invest in crypto late 2019 by buying Ethereum and slowly moved it into other investments. Don't get me wrong if Eth 2.0 comes out I think it has a great chance in the market, but I was looking for alternative investments, and as long as gas is high I will continue to move away from it. Here's what makes up the largest part of my portfolio today and why I am invest in each.

Polygram (Matic) ~1500%
I got involved with Matic through Zed.Run a NFT horse racing game. I got into it after Eth gas prices kept rising, and it reduced the number of races I could enter my horses into. We were paying outrageous amounts to buy, breed, and race our horses. So when there was an AMA, and I heard how it would speed up transactions on the blockchain and give us the ability to race for free, I jumped on board. Since investing, I am amazed at the team, they have expanded, tested on other blockchains, and have created multiple partnerships. Can't wait to see what they do next.
The Graph (GRT) ~200%
I found this one through COINBASE Rewards, these short presentation gives you some real insight into how and what each crypto does. The short couple minute video showed the usefulness of indexing transactions. The Google of crypto. I see this being useful on multiple blockchains, and bought since it is part of the infrastructure that other blockchains will use.
Polkadot (DOT) ~300%
Polkadot I purchased because of transaction speeds. I was looking for alternatives to Ethereum since gas fees were so high, if I was getting mad about paying the gas, others would also look for alternatives. So I got into Polkadot.
Cardona (ADA) ~300%
This crypto was one my boss had been telling me to invest in for some time, he had been invested in for a couple years. He kept talking about it, and I kept telling him I would get into it and finally I did. He told me about the founder and the team, and about the technology that they were using. I started to read up on it and it sounded like it was another alternative to Ethereum.
Ravencoin (RVN) ~400%
Not sure where I heard about Ravencoin. Creating and trading real and virtual assets on the blockchain based on the Bitcoin source code with improvements, sign me up.

Zed.Run
I cannot say enough about Zed.Run and their developers. The idea of owning a racehorse without actually having to take care of it appealed to me. No feeding, no mucking stalls, no shoeing. Sign me up. The developers have done an amazing job in bringing the feeling of actually being at the track. I see untold potential in this as they add more markets. Read their vision paper, its great! I have a stable of over 450 horses and am waiting for racetrack NFT, skins, DEZ and all the other amazing things the developers are working on.

Trading digital art work, from original artists. This is my attempt to be like the rich and famous. Some of the art is just amazing, ideas and designs that people come with.
I am constantly evaluating new crypto assets, and this is what is in my portfolio, tomorrow it could change, the markets are volatile, and there are new investments everyday.
