Splinterlands - Using Molten Orge in Battle

I have the Molten Orge earned in a orb pack a while back and now I will be using it to participate in the weekly Splinterland's post. I have not used the monster often but due like using it in high mana battles. In the battle I am about to show it is one where mana is limited but based on the rule sets Reverse Speed and Upclose and Personal it seemed ideal to go with fire splinter and use Molten Orge.

Here is one battle I have using Molten Orge, enjoy:

A battle with 15 mana limit it would be ideal to go with low mana but decent melee attack monsters in that of the fire splinter. Instead of just going with the common combo of Cerberus and some reach, opportunity and sneak monsters I mixed it up a bit. My formation starts with Ooze followed by Furious Chicken and then Molten Ogre and finish off with Kolbold Miner. I did this so that I could fill up my spots in the formation while still be able to use Orge which took 9 mana.

My opponent went with dragon summoner and mixed it with fire splinter. They went with Lava as their tanker and Spy and Ant Miner as their middle and rear of the formation. At first glance it would be clear that I would be able to knock out my opponent's rare monster with ease but my front would have to hold off my opponent.

After the first round my my Ooze and Furious Chicken are knocked out while my opponent still have all their monsters intact. It is not an ideal end to the round but I would quickly comeback as now my Molten Ogre was my tanker.

After the second round I was able to knock out their Ant Miner and my Molten Ogre was able to sustain all the damage form my opponent. It would take another round to finish my opponent's Spy and by end of fifth round I had my Ogre knock out my opponent's Lava.

Conclusions

The formation I had was able to knock out my opponent even though I do not use this kind of formation a lot. The tactic I was going for was to extend the battle as long as I could while have my monsters slowly knock out my opponent's one by one. With my Ogre's high health rating and ability demoralize I was getting the upper hand in the battle. I first started to appear weak as I lost my first two monsters but quickly proven that my formation was no joke and the combo of Ogre and Kobold Miner was enough to wipe out my opponent's formation.

Although it was knocking out one monster at a time I still come out victorious as my plan very much was to stay alive as long as I could so my monsters get more opportunities to knock out my opponent.
