Late afternoon, I was sitting in front my computer with my colleagues whom I have recruited to the world of cryptocurrencies. On the computer screen was the homepage of Binance as I was explaining to them what Bitcoin and Altcoins are, how they work and how they are going to invest on them. I was teaching them about buying and hodling, staking and BNB vault on Binance. I then openned BTC/USDT and started explaining to them how to interpret candlesticks on the chat. Guess what, the BTC started moving up like crazy. Numbers moved faster like microseconds on a stopwatch.
We paused everything and watched. I said something is happening somewhere. Its either Elon Musk has twitted about Bitcoin and there are news affecting the market. Few minutes later BINANCE froze, everything stopped and when refreshing you could not load the Binance website. My colleagues were agitated that may be the website is gone, and Binance was a scam.
I rushed to twitter and there was anger and happiness, mixed feelings. Some happy of the jump whilst some complained of the slowness, freezing or disappearance of websites. Binance and Kraken exchange were amongst those affected. Then I met a tweet from the CEO of Binance:
That's when I also cooled down. And the news was that Elon's Tesla invested 1.5 billion US dollars on Bitcoin. I was surprised and could not believe it. But then I remembered he is the world's richest man. He can buy whatever amount he wants just like that. Anyway, that move was good for Bitcoin and cement its usability as Tesla continued announcing that It will now accept purchases on Bitcoins.
At the time of this publication, Bitcoin was trading at 43,324 USD on Binance (The website is fully functional now!) But those with minute Bitcoins and still trying accumulate buying every month or even those who have not yet invested in Bitcoin, It will become more expensive unless there is dip in thereby future.
All in all, Congratulations to Elon Musk and His Tesla!
