Singapore, Blockchain, and Food Safety

veriTAG's food system is a new system adopted by the Singapore Food Agency that uses the NULS blockchain from ST Engineering - an open source and adaptive blockchain network that was created for app development.

“For veriTAG, having the correct partner who is supportive is of the utmost importance. NULS is able to give us their full support,” says Jason Lim, CEO of veriTAG.

This system is helpful for Singapore, a country that imports more than 90% of its food and has experienced safety issues in the past. It isn't just Singapore adopting this technology to make sure food comes from a safe source using a reliable, unchangeable ledger. Companies like Walmart and Dole are testing the usage of blockchain for tracking food and checking that said food comes from a safe source.
