RTFS #5 - January situation report

Do repost and rate:

I started the year with a lot of motivation and ideas, but my momentum got cut short in the second half of the month because my day job as a video editor kept me more busy than I anticipated. But I still found time to work on a few extra elements and move forward on my Road To Financial Security (RTFS).

Publish0x: In 2020, I posted 46 articles, so a bit less than one a week. In January 2021, I already posted 10 articles and got rewarded with an 11% increase of my subscribers count, so thank you all for that! I'm definitely on track here, I really want to grow on this platform and talk about more topics than just finance and crypto with this community. My second most viewed/tipped/liked article was about filmmaking, which renders me happily surprised: Filmmaking 101: Understanding how to light a scene. My most viewed/tipped/liked post is about my RTFS ideas, so thank you all for your support! I have a lot more ideas and drafted articles to finish and post so stay tuned! Regarding the earnings, I won't withdraw as often as I used to, if I can help the P0x team save some gas money I gladly will. I think my strategy will be to hodl every token here until either I figure out exactly what to do with them or P0x introduces a new token to replace one of them. Ethereum gas fees are way too high right now to do anything worthwhile with the little amount of tokens I have here anyway.

Brave: I finally got enough BATs on my phone to link the app to my Uphold account and get all my BAT there. As explained before, I will convert all that to DAI (thanks Uphold for the 0% commission fee) and send the DAI to NEXO when the fees get lower.

Interests: The interest rate for DAI in Compound Finance stayed pretty high all month, but I don't have a lot of DAI there, and I'm not gonna move it until the transaction fees on the Ethereum blockchain go down somehow, cause I would spend way more than the amount of DAI moved if I were to do it now. I also transferred a handful of DAI from Uphold (converted from BAT) to NEXO to start building this account up as well.

Stock footage: In January 2021, I uploaded as many photos on Shutterstock, Adobe Stock and iStock/Getty Images as I did in the entire last year on Shutterstock only. I still haven't sold any as these numbers are very low compared to the best selling portfolios, and I shot generic images and not season specific ones, so I'm not expecting a big boom but some occasional sales. The difference is that last year I was trying to sell pictures I had taken for other purposes, this year I am shooting with the intent to sell, so this gives me a wider range of possibilities.

Digital products: I'm still hoping to launch a couple online shops in the first quarter of the year. I spent some time in January working on products, I designed some printable PDFs for an Etsy shop and I'm almost done working on a YouTuber Assets pack, because I want to make sure I have good quality items to upload when the stores go live. Of course, I'll keep you posted as soon as something launches.

As expected, this first quarter of 2021 is really going to be about setting up new habits and figuring things out for the months to come, I'm not expecting any big returns anytime soon. The only thing I know for sure is that I will keep writing more and more and hopefully grow on PUBLISH0X this year.

Again, any advice or feedback is most appreciated, and thank you for your support!

Talk to you soon!
