RollerCoin Season 2: Rip Off or Worth It?

Do repost and rate:

Hey Rollers! Rather than bore you with the details I wanted to share my findings in advance and then if you are interested in my process you are welcome to read the rest of the article. One caveat, I'm not sure how they will do the weekly rewards or if they will change anything with the experience (XP) since it seems like we have 8 weeks and 4 days. They already changed some things since the initial launch so please check back to this post for updates and corrections. In order to get those updates, I would encourage you to either like, follow, or save the link to this page. Now on to the findings as accurately as possible.

Event Pass Only

For all Event Pass Free Rewards (Free rewards end at level 13) players are required to earn 1820XP. The total possible XP to earn this season without paying money is 1422XP. So unless players are prepared to spend 160 RLT in order to make up the difference,  they can forget about the 20 RLT and the El Monstro Miner. The highest level attainable without spending money is the Chupacabra (1120XP needed).

Rollercoin must have received some negative feedback this season because they posted this on their social media:

-To achieve the first two Free Rewards in Event Pass, including Chupacabra miner, the quest "Spend 40 RLT" is NOT REQUIRED! Complete other tasks and it will be enough to receive those prizes

On the plus side, I suppose they included a free miner which players can earn this season without having to purchase the upgrade.

Upgrade Event Pass

The Upgrade Event Pass opens the possibility for players to earn all rewards which include 9 miners. In my opinion, if you've paid the upgrade price of 199.99 RLT, Rollercoin should have removed the 40 RLT expectation or perhaps reduced it to 10 RLT which may have further incentivized players to purchase the event pass. In any case, let's get to the numbers.

In order for players to receive the rewards for all 15 levels, they will need to earn a total of 2100XP. The total possible XP to earn without spending the 40 RLT per week is  1522XP. That leaves players in a deficit of 578 XP. Unless players are prepared to spend an additional 240 RLT in order to make up the difference and gain 600XP, the highest level reward they can expect to earn is level 10.

The rewards up to level 10 include 6 miners (total power increase of 1,269,000 GH/s or 1,269 TH/s), 20 RLT, and 1- 300,000 GH/s power lasting 1 Day, and 1- 500,000 GH/s power lasting for 3 days.

All in all, the miners are a decent haul and the players only spent 199.99 RLT for the upgrade. The miners if purchased from the shop would cost 226 RLT and that's not including the exclusive to Season 2 miners that are not available for purchase. If players are planning on earning all the rewards they will have to pay about 440 RLT. It's still cheaper than then 799.99 RLT but it's going to be a challenge especially the "Invite a friend" weekly task.

Warning about the "Invite a Friend" (referral) task. It is against the terms of service to share your referral link with family members and roommates to receive commissions on their virtual mining and in-game purchases.

My Process

Experience Need Per Level

For anyone who wanted to get a little deeper into my process here it is. If you choose to skip this part, I don't blame you at all. If you find any discrepancies, please don't hesitate to leave a comment so I can fix it.

I wanted to do the math on how far I might be able to get this season especially since they increased the XP needed per level from 100XP (season 1) to now 140XP. My goal is to try and complete all the quests including the annoying "refer a friend" which seems to be hit and miss with the link. The only quest I refuse to partake in unless there is some amazing miner for 40 RLT is the spending 40 RLT per week but if we don't do that quest then we also lose an additional 60XP for completing weekly quests. A total loss of 100XP per week! 900XP deficit.

So here is what I came up with. The event started 4 days ago (October 6th) and there are 60 days in this season. Since the final "Free" reward with the event pass is at level 13, players will need to earn 1820XP in order to receive all the free rewards. For those that chose to upgrade for the 199.99 RLT, they will need a total of 2100XP in order to receive all the prizes but because they have spent the money for the upgrade that means for the first week they also earned the "Spend 40RLT" for the week and already earned 200XP for the first week alone.

Daily Bonus

The Daily Bonus this season is baffling. During Season 1 players were able to earn 100XP per week but for Season 2 they decided to have the weekly bonus add up to a total of 63XP? Perhaps they wanted to challenge their players a bit more but it's confusing and strange that they wouldn't have used a round number. Anyway, there are a total of 60 days this season and the season started in the middle of a week. So week one only seems to have 4 days which means we have a total of 56 days remaining. If that calculation is correct, players have 4 days and 8 weeks to complete this season. This first week (assuming no daily bonuses were missed since it should be only 4 days, players will earn a total of 18XP. In the following 8 weeks, players will earn 504XP bringing the total to 522XP.

Weekly Quests

Free tasks first: The simplest tasks per week for players to complete almost immediately are the Watch the Video and the Visit Pages (Facebook, Twitter, Discord, and Telegram) quests. Once completed, players will have earned a total of 25XP. The second simplest task that doesn't involve any outside support is completing the weekly selected games. The weekly earning potential after playing a total of 160 games is 60XP. The final free opportunity to earn is to Invite 1 Freind for another 15XP. If all of these tasks are met, players will have gained a total of 100XP for the week.

Should a player chose to purchase an item for 40 RLT, the final weekly quest will be met. Technically this is the easiest quest since you literally pay for it to go away but it requires money and if you aren't going to complete the other quests, it's not worth it anyway. However, once all of the quests are completed, players can expect to receive the Weekly Challenges XP for completing all of the quests and the final 60XP for the week.

To recap: Players can only earn 100XP without spending any money. The total earned since there are 8 weeks and a partial week (4 days) is 900XP without spending anything.

Happy Mining!
